Raya starts which is obvious. Ben White starts as RB, Mosquera and Gabriel as the CBs, and Calafiori on the left. MLS gets another start in the midfield, alongside Declan Rice and Odegaard. Havertz led the line with Saka and Tzolis on either side of the pitch to assist him.
It was expected that Konsa would start against his former side, but it looks like Mikel wants to stick to what worked earlier. Havertz over Gyokeres – we can’t even call it a mystery because we all know why it is so.
I am turning 35 in a few minutes, India time so I don’t have much to say, except that not seeing Martinelli is a heart break for me while not seeing Jesus gives a relief. Only a day and some hours left before the transfer window shuts, and we have only Tzolis left as the left winger.
That’s another day’s discussion though, the game starts in an hour and I will watch some of it.
Hope you are having a good day, and hopefully the Monday ends with a win. #COYG

Happy Birthday!
Have a terrific birthday Ambarish and thanks for the enduring patience that you show towards me and all the other cunts on here.
Happy Bday Ambarish!!
we should slice and dice this totally unsettled side…Unai must be so pissed that this fixture has landed so early in the season…they’ve conducted a lot of business in a very short period, which we would know nothing about, so I would imagine they will struggle for the next month or 3
based on the way Suzuki misplayed that first corner MA will be licking his lips…we might just head to the corner flag and continually bash the ball off the Villa defenders’ shins
Havertz only missed that one by 30 feet
another deft first touch by our cherry-picking non-Striker
Thank you everyone. Gyokeres could have done better there.
We’re going to have to do a lot of work adapting to the mew set piece rules. One of the things that made us so potent was our physicality in the opposition box.
Of course its possible this will be one of those “new” directives that’s completely forgotten by October.
now that we’ve facilitated the pure profit departure of Saliba next summer, with the purchase of Knosa, maybe we can get another CB in so Gabs can play in the number 9 position
Marc—they’ve already forgotten about the 5 second throw-in rule, so I wouldn;t be surprised if they relaxed on the new set piece regulations too…speaking of which, on one of our earlier corners we had Mos run all the way across the box simply to take out the front-side post defender and that was allowed without a word from the ref
TRVL
The ref’s have not forgotten about the 5 second rule – they just struggle to count that high.
the most important change might be the lack of soft fouls being called, which we saw at times during the WC…we’ll see if that curtails our flop-heavy agenda
Terrible fucking game
the players have learned that the counting isn’t supposed to start until the ball is in hand, so I saw some players on the weekend not picking up the auxillary ball right away but instead using their feet until they reached the sideline…clearly those directives are coming from the coaching staff
Kronke
Its not even that good.
KP—what are you talking about?? this is a whole new brand of Arsenal football, now that the shackles have been removed…fuck me
if I was on MA’s half-mile long wishlist I would be asking for all kinds of nonsensical shit, especially if we can’t get the desired result tonight
TRVL
Now now!
Not a pen – debatable whether its even a free kick.
if that’s a penalty, I don’t know about anything anymore
we could really use an injection of pace…can anyone see Marts on the bench?
