Season opener – Arsenal vs Coventry

Fuckin’ hell, we haven’t seen proper football since ages. We have three world cup winners in our squad, though Raya couldn’t get a start (remains a mystery to me) and Zubimendi played just about the minute you needed to finish a plate of tikka masala. Mikel Merino outdid Ronaldo in the world cup in about 1/5th of the minutes he played, but hey, we surely don’t want to be in a situation to give him a start.

Right, fuck those Spursy cunts, I am happy football is back and thr starting line up is out.

Raya starts in the goal – no wonder there. We have gone with a back 4 of White, Mosquera, Gabriel, and Calafiori – which makes sense considering Saliba and Timber are out. Mikel has finally come to senses and given Lewis Skelly a start in the midfield alongside Rice and Odegaard. We have got Saka, Havertz and Tzolis starting up front. Gyokeres wouldn’t like it to be replaced by a part timer but you can’t really do much if your manager prefers someone else.

That bench looks solid as well, Hincapie, Eze, Gyokeres, Madueke, Nwaneri, Merino, Zubimendi, Dowman and Kepa are players fit to start in any of the Premier League teams. Maybe not Kepa, but he is a Premier League winner so who knows.

Coventry – a club that’s back in the Premier League after 25 years would be hoping to put up a fight at least, and the first days always have some surprises, but I am sure it won’t be this game. I am very interested to see the front 3 combination, whether Havertz has improved him scoring ability and how he links up with Tzolis and Saka.

No Martinelli on the bench means it’s over for the Brazillian. I always liked him, and I have nothing but praise for the kid. He would certainly be in the list of what could have been, just below Wilshere, if things have gone a bit differently.

Right, that’s me done. My laptop finally gave up to the extent of no return, that’s why you don’t see a complete makeover of London Is Red before the season begins. I am still searching for a good one.

See you in the comments.

Everton could be dark horses this season if they don’t sell any players before the end of the transfer window.
They look very good in transition, Ndiaye is quality as is the young Armstrong in midfield , Barry up top is starting to look the part , I like Dews-bury Hall and Norgaard is a good addition, plus defensively they look solid.
They may be looking to break into the top 6 or win a domestic cup …

Rumours that Vieira might be off to Hamburg for circa £9 million.

Quite impressive that Arteta’s only managed a £25 million loss on that transfer.

    What a cunt.

  3. Hoopah.

Emi Martinez is a perfect fit for Chelsea. Playing with confidence , marshalling area . That confidence has translated into confidence up front as they pot 3 in half an hour .
The goal they conceded is due to Neto not challenging the save and kicking it off.
Martinez is same type of a cunt as the Chelsea usual cunts , so everything gels

Marc—from a numbers massaging standpoint you can see why our cunt of a manager wanted to sell Marts, even without a replacement in hand…it cost us around 80M to bring in both Vieira and Jesus, which was about 80M too much, then we sell them for around 8 and 10 respectively on the same day we ship one of our pure profit former academy blue chippers for approximately 60…by doing so it gives the false impression that we’ve done some good business

looks like Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo, a 21 year old Belgium forward, is emerging as MA’s plan Z…his current MV is around 35M but his current club is seeking offers around 60M…the general consensus is that he’s a high-ceiling prospect, but he’s definitely not the kind of readymade world-class left-side/Striker help that was promised…furthermore, he’s certainly not going to push fucking Havertz out of the starting lineup, which should have been on the top of our list of priorities

Arteta sucks the value out of players and spends way over the odds on players like monies going out of fashion.

Despite what Dopey says Arteta’s got to bring in another attacking wide player – he’s spent the summer chasing Roger’s (told Arteta to fuck off and joined Chelsea and looking pretty good), Vinícius júnior (said I’m not playing for that cunt and signed a new contract) and then Alvarez (told Arteta to fuck off and called him a cunt).

On top of that he’s selling Martinelli who is a player the fans like so going into the main part of the season with 1 wide left attacker who’s come from a 3rd rate league.

If Arteta doesn’t get a signing and an exciting one after spending a fortune of defensive players again the fans will be on his back when its not happening on the pitch and there’s £250 million worth of defensive buys on the bench / didn’t make the squad.

VAR and ref’s really are dozy cunts.

They’ve allowed a goal that had a handball in the build up because the shot was off target but took a deflection.

How the fuck do you come to that conclusion?

And they wonder why fans get on their backs.

Marc—I get what you’re driving at but they followed the rules to a tee, whether or not you like that particular rule is another thing altogether…there’s definitely an element of overthinking that came into play when this rule was being fleshed out

Reports doing the rounds that we’re still chasing Alvarez even after he told Arteta he doesn’t want to join Arsenal.

    Arteta really is mentally disturbed.

Not really, the key word is “accidental” and by no stretch of the imagination was it accidental, I presume there will be an apology forthcoming from pgmol if they want to retain any credibility.

My advice to you Marc is to refrain from believing all you read and hear regarding transfers , I would have thought that by now you would have come to the conclusion that at least 95% of the transfer rumours are fake news..

Where’s the new signing? If we’ve accepted Alvarez doesn’t want to join us why isn’t the deal near complition?

We’ve literally got hours left before the window closes.

“Alvarez’s representatives have maintained contact with Arsenal and have now raised the possibility of inserting a future Barcelona-specific release clause or mechanism into any potential agreement. The idea would allow Alvarez to move to Camp Nou at a later date, preserving his long-term ambition while giving him a route out of Atletico this summer. Arsenal would consider such a structure if suitable terms could be agreed.”

this is how pathetic we are under our thirsty as fuck manager who can’t secure anyone of consequence without the most unusual of assurances/clauses…what the fuck are we doing here???

He’d be off summer after next if not sooner.

Crazy thing to agree to you’re signing someone who doesn’t want to play for you and will be looking to move at the first opportunity – we know what Barca think of us from our previous dealings.

Marc—it appears as if MA’s Plan Z, Fernandez-Pardo, is on his way to Newcastle, so now we’ve supposedly turned our attentions to Lyon’s Malick Fofana, which is clearly a sign that the trajectory of our offseason pursuits has changed considerably…all this talk of reaching for the stars was just a smokescreen so the fanbase didn’t get too riled up when MA kept bringing in more defensively-minded options…it reminds me of all those years under the latter days Wenger when big names were bandied about and no one of real consequence arrived…let’s face it, no one but someone who either isn’t old enough to know better or requires unjustifiable assurances/wages wants to come here…in a day and age where consensus is a near impossiblility, this appears to be the only thing everyone can agree on…maybe there’s hope for us yet (as a society not a club)

The only positive is I don’t think the fans will accept going into the rest of the season with either a second rate signing after spending circa €190 million on defensive players or no signing at all.

The fans will put up with all sorts of shit when its been decades since we won the title to get one over the line – now we’ve done it and the PL looks incredibly weak compared to previous seasons they’ll demand more.
