EFL Cup – Ipswich Town vs Arsenal – Cup run begins

We could have done the double last year had we not lost to Man City in the finals. The loss to Man City was a disappointing one for us. Nico O’Reilly scored twice and ruined some of the fun that was about to come later. We also lost to PSG in the Champions League finals, and missed the treble. The getaway was that you shouldn’t lose finals but to learn from those losses, we must reach there again.

And the journey begins today. We are visiting Ipswich Town today in the third round of Carabao Cup / EFL cup. There are some good teams competing this time – Chelsea, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Palace, Newcastle have already made it to the next round. The fate of Arsenal, Man Utd, City, Liverpool and Spurs will be decided today.

We are unbeaten so far this season. 4 Premier League wins and a CL win so far, and we can add another one today. And it’s the second last game before we go into the international break, so the manager is under no duress to rest players. Though, I would like to see the likes of Max Dowman getting some game time today, Mikel likely prefers to go with the best fit XI.

Wenger used these cups to develop academy players and he would find some gems often. He invested his time and also cost the club a few points in doing so. But we are way past the development phase and we can spend 60m on players that would be second fiddle to Saliba and Rice, so don’t expect anything interesting. The best we can do is, WIN, and move on to the next round.

Every trophy matters. We have the best squad in the Premier League and we have already won the Premier League. The next target is to win more, and not just settle with the title this season.

In the team news, we would probably see Kepa back in the goals. There’s so much to do for Raya, so he will get some rest. We can also see a midfield of MLS and Guimaraes, with Merino in the Odegaard role. Madueke is a candidate to get a start and we might see Eze over Tzolis. Gyokeres could also get his start. I don’t care frankly who starts and if he is fatigued, we have got at least 2 players for each position and that removes the injury anxiety for me.

That’s all for today, see you during the game.

Justin Timber appears to likewise despise the notion of Kai leading our line, so much so that he asked his brother to injury him…MA’s VG ghosting might come to a premature end, should he miss any time, unless he opts to go with Merino instead…man did MA ever butcher that last window…what else in new

Some find it difficult to understand that whoever plays as striker under Arteta it will make minimal difference to the outcome.
Havertz and Merino tend to be a better fit because they are technically on a different level to Gyokeres and will consequently drop deep to link the play.
It’s all swings and roundabouts as Gyokeres will give the team more goals but merino and Havertz will create space for the likes of Saka and Odegaard to finish off the move as we have seen already this season.
Ideally a striker who can link the play and is clinical in front of goal would be the answer, hence why we tried and failed to sign Alvarez, don’t be surprised to see us try again in Januar.
Merino would be my choice to start but I have a feeling Arteta will go with Gyokeres if Havertz isn’t fit.
Gyokeres played well for Sweden at the weekend, let’s hope he can continue to build his confidence in their next few games as I’m sure he will get game time due to the number of games on the horizon.

who the fuck do you think you’re educating you self-absorbed simpleton twat…smarten the fuck up

One of the Gallagher brothers has intimated he has knowledge of the outcome for the punishment to be taken against City. I delved into the statement and asked a friend of my daughter who is a contract lawyer with a well known legal firm that represents a few premiership clubs. She believes the outcome will be as NG has stated as by pressing on with harder measures will open a can of worms.

“who the fuck do you think you’re educating”

You, as your football knowledge is limited, and I’m giving it to you for free so you should be grateful..

More eye watering revelations about the depth of city’s cheating today. Unprecedented in scale. Cancel their trophies, work out who they owe money to, and bring down the entire edifice so no club can ever form called Manchester City again. Fuck them. Utterly nauseating.

Dont forget this cunt in charge has spent over a fuckin billion on overpriced cack , far more than Manchester City in the same time frame.

And spare me they broke the fuckin artificial financial rules bollocks

Barca and Real Madrid make Manchester City look like choir boys with their accounting techniques

The whole fuckin lot of them are greedy no good cunts and our cunts loved their money when they had that cunt of a stadium to pay for a while back.

They all need to be sanctioned preferably with lifetime bans.

I have read this cunt is on £15 million a year.

The FA should be investigating this , not for corruption but for fuckin insanity.

There’s been too many stories about the major clubs in the PL pushing for the prosecution of City for them to let it slide.

Now the real scale of what City have been doing is coming out – I still stand by what I said you can’t start stripping league titles from a decade ago it’ll cause too much damage to the integrity of the PL as a global brand. Art will hate that as will Kroenke but telling a ManU fan they suddenly won a title years ago won’t cause them to celebrate just as it won’t change the memories of City fans who danced in the streets celebrating the win.

A minor punishment along the lines of a transfer ban won’t cut it and relegating them by a one division will be wiped out after a single season.

What does need to happen is it made clear that the more City fight the punishment the more it will be increased.

“City could also point to Chelsea’s treatment of financial breaches during Roman Abramovich’s ownership.

Chelsea were fined £10 million by the Premier League and a further £10m by the Football Association (FA) over undisclosed payments involving agents, intermediaries and players.

City believe that sets a precedent and any punishment beyond that would be harsh”

I would suspect that the PL will look very closely at the NBA and it’s recent issues involving the Clippers and their rich as fuck owner, Steve Ballmer, as he too was engaged in some very obvious shady dealings so as to circumvent the “salary cap”…ultimately they suspended the owner, several members of his inner management circle and the player’s agent, for varying lengths, then fined them heavily and took away some of their future draft capital…btw the player involved received a slap on the wrist…the powers that be feared that a protracted “public” legal entanglement could get so messy that a fucking witch hunt could ensue, as every top club has a shit ton of skeletons in their respective closets (not to mention this would invariably bring to light the League’s mishandling of any previous violations)…ultimately the League doesn’t want to bite the hand that feeds them too hard, as the monies involved are so astronomical nowadays..as such, all this revisionist history nonsense likely won’t win the day

Let’s the scales of justice fall wherever. Get City out of the way, and turn attention to the rest of the clubs. I’m all for exposing cheating greedy cunts and I’m ready to believe that practically no one in high level English football is faultless.

Maybe as an ex-lawyer, our loveable thankfully ex prime minister (no, not Bojo or Truss) Starmer could head up a highly lucrative enquiry? Man, the UK is fucked by corruption and greed these days. Every cunt with a 7 figure salary is at it.

I’d rather give the job to Hong Kong Mick. On Arteta, I think his wages are down to the irredeemable stupidity of those greedy American cunts who pay him rather than the sort of Mancini (Roberto not Terry) double contract cheating that City have been involved in. But hey, I’d be happy to see the wee bastard ‘probed’.

    They are all fuckin hypocrites

The clubs now moaning and rucking about Manchester City , including our slags all wanted their money and then when the stadium was paid off , they wanted their players because it suited them.

Stadium not paid, we need cash

    Adebabayor
    Nasri
    Sagna
    Clichy

Stadium now paid for, we want their cack

    The moronic cunt
    Jesus
    Zinchenko

As for punishment, I would not deduct the cheating cunts any points, but actually award them 50 points instead

That would be the ultimate humiliation and they might not appeal.

    They are all cunts .

  15. Art Fraud

Our principled cunts tore up that Emirates sponsorship contract yet?

Expect we will hear later today

The difference with Chelsea and City is Chelsea did most of their thing before these rules were put into place which all clubs agreed to follow.

City then not only broke them but orchestrated a huge cover up to hide what they were doing.

The correct punishment would be kicking them out of the league structure forcing them to re-enter League 2 with all of the financial restraints that would entail.

  17. NORG

For years City have been building a defence against any action to be taken. There will sure to be out of court discussions and depending on the facts City hold then an agreement will be reached. The minnows of the premiership will not be involved but the big boys may shout now but will also be looking over their shoulder.
Corruption is rife in all walks of life be it for financial reward or otherwise.
Back to AFC and the list of players wanting to depart in January is growing. The camp is not a happy place and when that happens???

    Norg

I haven’t heard any rumours – who wants out?

  19. NORG

    Marc
Viktor, Zubi ( wife is homesick), Merino. They are on such good deals that getting a similar deal is a problem.

So going to be another Arteta masterclass in taking a £50 million player and selling them for £9.5 million!
