We could have done the double last year had we not lost to Man City in the finals. The loss to Man City was a disappointing one for us. Nico O’Reilly scored twice and ruined some of the fun that was about to come later. We also lost to PSG in the Champions League finals, and missed the treble. The getaway was that you shouldn’t lose finals but to learn from those losses, we must reach there again.
And the journey begins today. We are visiting Ipswich Town today in the third round of Carabao Cup / EFL cup. There are some good teams competing this time – Chelsea, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Palace, Newcastle have already made it to the next round. The fate of Arsenal, Man Utd, City, Liverpool and Spurs will be decided today.
We are unbeaten so far this season. 4 Premier League wins and a CL win so far, and we can add another one today. And it’s the second last game before we go into the international break, so the manager is under no duress to rest players. Though, I would like to see the likes of Max Dowman getting some game time today, Mikel likely prefers to go with the best fit XI.
Wenger used these cups to develop academy players and he would find some gems often. He invested his time and also cost the club a few points in doing so. But we are way past the development phase and we can spend 60m on players that would be second fiddle to Saliba and Rice, so don’t expect anything interesting. The best we can do is, WIN, and move on to the next round.
Every trophy matters. We have the best squad in the Premier League and we have already won the Premier League. The next target is to win more, and not just settle with the title this season.
In the team news, we would probably see Kepa back in the goals. There’s so much to do for Raya, so he will get some rest. We can also see a midfield of MLS and Guimaraes, with Merino in the Odegaard role. Madueke is a candidate to get a start and we might see Eze over Tzolis. Gyokeres could also get his start. I don’t care frankly who starts and if he is fatigued, we have got at least 2 players for each position and that removes the injury anxiety for me.
That’s all for today, see you during the game.

So will Wicksy be telling us that Madueke is surplus to requirements as well with Dowman being preferred as a replacement for Saka?
Rice is a lucky boy there.
Kicking a player off the ball is a red.
Well played Seagulls humiliating the Cunt with proper attacking football and not just playing percentages , set pieces and scraps.
Gave Man Utd a two goal lead as well in the week and then hit the big boys for 6 goals in a row.
And the fanbase, thought they would go unbeaten.
Rice kicked him even when the ball was nowhere.
Lucky the ref is an Arsenal fan
The yellow is just going through motions for that
Three weeks to get it right. The teams with Savvy managers will be taking note.
Norg
It seems without the goals from set pieces Arteta’s get out of jail card has isn’t there anymore. The fact that corners etc being ref’d properly should make such a difference tells you just how bad our “gamesmanship” was last season.
Marc
I don’t watch our cunts too often, they bore the fuckin arse out of me, but you know if they go behind in games, they are completely fucked.
This cunt ruins every fuckin creative player he gets his hands on.
Enjoy Dowman cameos now, because he will playing like Brian Talbot by the time he is 20.
You can see why the cunt was rucking to the PGMOL about the penalty last week because if that gets stopped and he can’t score on set pieces ,he has fuck all else in his locker.
And he has spent over a fuckin billion
The only thing saving this cunt, is Spurs, Man United being pony as well.
Superb performance from Brighton, I had my doubts about this match , hence why I said I’d be happy with a draw, we were never in the game from the first minute.
I did also say that Sunderland have shown the rest of the league the blueprint of how to approach the game against Arsenal , meaning high press and never giving Arsenal a second to breathe.
The Brighton football was a joy to watch and who’s to say that they won’t compete for the title , beating United in the week and now arsenal and scoring 6 goals in the process and outplaying both teams comprehensively.
As for Arsenal, 4 away games on the bounce proved too much , the international break has probably come at a good time..
you just know our sad cunt of a manager badgered the pre-match commentary into mentioning the Invincibles, only for us to get trounced immediately following…that was a karmic bitch slap and I’m sure it won’t be the last for that smug litte prick

Its not just the Spuddies and ManU being shit. Look at last season and the managerial situation with the “bigger” clubs.
Chelsea – 2 managers both sacked with the same temp manager taking over both times.
Liverpool – sacked the manager who had won the league the season before.
City – its quite clear that Pep had decided to leave, the players knew and it affected performances.
Newcastle – Howe quit at the end of the season clearly there were issues behind the scenes.
Spuddies – already mentioned.
ManU – already mentioned.
Everton – sacked Dyche.
Palace – Glasner decided to leave in October last year.
Forest – lost count of their manager changes.
The Premier League was a basket case last season – only Villa had some stability and a manager who’s not a cunt.
Wicksy
Brighton will not compete for the title.
Don’t try and distract that Arteta was schooled by another manager whose expected finish will be 5th to 8th with 4th being dreamland.
Arteta’s a CUNT nothing will ever change that.
Marc
“ Brighton will not compete for the title.”
Unlike me, predictions have never been your strongest point , put it this way , I will be very surprised if Brighton don’t make champions league football next year and possibly the league if no one runs away with it.
The strength in depth of the league is incredible, though I think it’s fair to say that the strength at the very top is not quite so incredible.
I never thought for one second that we would go unbeaten as there are so many grounds that a team can come unstuck as we have seen already this season .
United at Hull 2-0
Arsenal at Brighton 3-0
Chelsea at Brentford 3-0
Liverpool v forest
Villa at Brighton 4-0
Newcastle at Leeds 4-1
Liverpool drawing at home to both Fulham and forest.
City are the only team that haven’t succumbed to a lesser team but they have had the rub of the green against Bournemouth and united so I do expect them to drop points in their next 5 games which include
Sunderland home
Liverpool away
Villa away
Brighton home
If they come out of those fixtures unscathed then I think it’s fair to say that they could be in for the duration.
Wicksy
Your predictions are bullshit – you predict both outcomes and then say how clever you are because you got it right. You’re the guy who puts a bet on every horse in a race and then says “I can spot a winner”.
Only days ago – Eze’s going to be sold – Eze was great last season why would we sell him.
During last season I predicted that Skelly (hadn’t kicked a ball in months at the time), Martinelli and Nwaneri would be players who would be on our to sell list. Martinelli sold. Skelly punted round like a whore but wouldn’t leave. Nwaneri back out on loan because we couldn’t find a buyer.
You told me I didn’t know what I was talking about but I guess you don’t remember that do you?
Wicksy
You’re a fucking genius – you think a team going to Anfield might drop points.
Wow how do you do it?
Those soppy cunts Havertz and this cunt of manager , should be made to watch a video of Brobbey play centre forward in the last 2 games.
A lanky streak of Chelsea piss v the Mike Fucking Tyson Brobbey.
I suppose he will want to buy him now for £150+ million and have him on the left wing, tracking his full back
And which cunt , thought it was a good idea to sell Ballard.
Clueless cunts.
Ballard is an Ulsterman with more spunk and fight than our lot put together.
Our cunts are always on the fuckin floor cheating and bleating.
City still have some work to do in their own end but they’re miles ahead of us going forward, especially with Doku back in the side…Enzo’s clearly not going to repeat the boring nonsense that led to him getting the sack at Chelsea…meanwhile back at the Emirates there must be some up top wondering why we didn’t spend properly again, albeit I doubt that will be MA’s mindset…what a twat
TRVL
There are stories going around that we’re looking at hiring consultancy firms to help us look at ways to make cut backs – this includes staff.
I’m not sure we had the money to spend on a wide left forward.
Which asks why spend another £75 million on a DM when everyone knows we were short on the left – we’re now much weaker there than last season.
Art
Sunderland paid €20 million for him and he’s on £60k per week.
Compare that to £60 million and £280k per week.
