Same old Arsenal, same old referee

Arsenal Flag

Took me a day to partially recover from the horrendous performance at toilet bowl, I’m still sad with what I saw! Not particularly interested in going into the match details for this one (sorry!), it was a game to forget but I shan’t let go the two things – game plan and referring.

The level of refereeing in Premier League needs to be fixed. It’s not because Spu*s benefitted of a soft penalty. It’s because the inconsistency we see in Premier League. I don’t give a fuck about other teams but it’s never consistent for us, Arsenal. For every half decisions coming our way, we are denied at least 10.

How many of you can say hand to heart if that same push was done by a Spu*s defender to Martinelli or Nketiah, we would have got a Penalty kick? If Rob Holding was a United or Liverpool player, would he have been sent off?

Why a player from a certain team wasn’t punished after steping on Tomiyasu’s face? Where the fuck was VAR at that time?

It was a soft penalty. If you start penalising them, score line would look like 9-7 every other match. We would have celebrated like an FA cup win if it was in our favour, against Spu*s at Emirates in a game so crucial for Champions League qualification.

Second point, game management. Last time we played against Spu*s, Tomiyasu did a great job in restricuting Son. Almost everyone (you too, if you put down those glasses that has ‘Arteta is great’ written on the sides) knew it would be difficult for Holding to restrict Son. Everyone also knew what a fucking drama he is, the same guy who broke 16 ribs because a dead ball hit him with 0.06 miles / hour.

What were those sideline shouting for, if it didn’t meant for Holding to be careful after a yellow card? I’m a Holding fan, I still feel it was a good decision to play him ahead of Ben White since he is better with headers and can compete with Kane but I have never seen him that aggressive. Was it a game plan? If yes, it was sh*t. If he was not told to keep calm after first yellow, it was sh*t.

We are too good to be competing against Spu*s and United level of bullying and getting away with it. You don’t try it in a crucial game. It backfires!

One last thing, Conte can fuck right off. Isn’t it surprising to complain about someone complaining? I mean if not more, he is on the same level to Mourinho in complaining! Arteta only qualifies as an assistant complainer (pun intended) in front of him.

I’m devasted with that loss. There shouldn’t have bad decisions. There shouldn’t have been a red card. A fair loss after 90 min in a 11v11 is acceptable. This inconsistency should stop. Arteta should stop shouting nonsense and use that energy for his in-game management.

Right, I know you are frustrated too and I’m not helping here but it is what it is. Hopefully this Tuesday, we manage to beat New Castle and then grab a win against Everton in our last game of this season. Europa League is not where I want to see the best club in the world play. If we don’t ask questions if we don’t qualify for Champions League when no one else wants to, that mediocrity which crept in in the later days of Wenger is not gone. If we don’t qualify for Champions League after coming this close, we are just one of those midtable clubs (West Ham, Man United and Spu*s).

Signing off..

Although the game was (probably) invented at that posh school in England, I live in one of the cradles of rugby, ie Wales.

As with many sports involving British teams, it’s easier to watch it abroad.

I used to play quite a bit til I was 18 or so. But bullying PE teachers (who wouldn’t allow us to play football) and playing through puberty and coming up against hairy, fully developed 16 year old men kind of turned me fully onto football.

I watch the international stuff these days (again subject to TV deals) and some of the English club stuff. One of my earliest experiences as a kid was playing at Leicester Welford Road.

  2. I tried to warn Pedro months ago that when his thought experiments were only being validated by complete pillocks like eb, AFC Superfan, and Rich the Economist who doesn’t read books, he should seriously rethink everything.

But people are stubborn, what are you gonna do.

Conte, the firestarter set to burn Spurs to the ground, took 6 months and 2 signings to get Spurs back into the CL. Arteta took over £200m and 2.5 years to get us to 5th only playing a game a week and still managing to beast the starting 11.

We’ve lost more games than Brighton this season, ironically after we raided them for £50m defender Benny Blanco.

Also, given his recent interview, Granit didn’t seem to get the memo on the huge culture shift that’s taken place under Arteta.

  3. Ah yeah, I have an old friend to went to Rugby in the 90s after he was expelled from our school. The son of an Uzbek oligarch, so he fit right in no stress.

  4. If Pedro keeps banning people and half of them end up on here before long they’ll be more posting on here than Le Grove (soon to be renamed “insert excuse here”).

  5. Raptor posted this link:

Where Pedro is being roasted there to the point that I actually feel for him, because they did not hold back and he got the full shotgun treatment.

Some made me chuckle though like these:
“Did you support Arsenal before the brain injury”
“Hilarious thread. A talent to write so much bollocks! But don’t let facts get in the way of your delusion.”

    Plus a definition for AFBs:
“They’ll (AFBs) come out with any sort of shite to try & make it look like they know what they’re on about.
    The truth doesn’t matter!”

Learned a new description for Arteta “Pep’s Gimp”

I have contemplated to go the route of a VPN. At the moment surfshark.com offers for $30 a year a VPN that can connect globally. In Australia there is Stan Sport stan.com.au which costs 16 Euros per month. For that you get all the Rugby you can handle, UEFA competitions, other sports, TV shows, Movies it is a most excellent deal.

All you require is an address in Australia (easy to get) they will accept foreign credit cards or you can pay with gift cards. They offer so much entertainment that it is a most decent offer and will cover multiple streaming services.

  7. Hi Killroy,
Thanks mate. It’s very tempting. But if I watch any more TV sport, Ms Kroenkephobe will waterboard me and chop off my index fingers so that I couldn’t use the remote.

But I’m working on converting my garage into a space that looks like the inside of the fire station on Banana Splits. You’ll all have to come to West Wales for a toxically boozy alcohol and class A inauguration party – other halves also welcome in case it gets too Arsenally!

  8. “Pep’s Gimp”

I like that – does it mean Pedro is actually “Arteta’s Gimp”?

  9. Sorry but I think we should let others live in peace. We shouldn’t become the very thing we hated – extremism towards / against something.

I really appreciate you all, and handful readers who just come by to read blog and our comment section. 🙂
