Chelsea, with their new front three – J P Morgan (yeah, they came up with that shite) and a new manager Xabi Alonso, are visiting us today at Emirates in our first real test of the season. We had an easy win against Coventry, and managed to beat Aston Villa 1-0 at their home turf. Chelsea would be a real test to see how much we have come forward, and whether Arteta will be bold enough to play an attacking game or play with more caution.
We have Timber and Saliba unavailable for today, so Konsa might make his first start today. Ben White should keep his place at RB. MLS hasn’t done anything wrong to lose his place to Zubimendi or Guimaraes, but I won’t be surprised if he sits on the bench for this one. Saka and Tzolis will start, but seeing Havertz starts up front pains me a little. If the rumours are to be believed, Gyokeres is sitting on the bench because of the extra weight he had put after winning the league, but if that’s not so, I would rather see him miss chances than Havertz.
This game is very important, we have to play the next game in the Champions League against Napoli, away from home and we surely would want to travel with a win and some confidence.
Chelsea front 3 has been a success so far for Alonso. Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers have scored 5 goals and 4 assists together in their 2 games. They probably won’t have Caicedo to start today, so that’s a relief. We will have some defensive works to do, and the midfield battle to win. Some of the pundits believe Chelsea will be the one to challenge for the title, but I highly doubt that. These same pundits were shouting for Tottenham last season.
The thing is, we have a lot to do this season. With only 1 proper left winger who is new to the league, and a make shift CF who is preferred over a traditional striker. We will be playing twice every week and there’s not just the Premier League to be won this season. We have eyes on some more – Champions League, Carabao Cup, FA cup. Not dropping points towards the beginning will give us the cushion to rotate and risk resting players when they will need the rest.
Right, that’s me done. I’m hoping for a win today, with a strike from Saka and another one from a defender, Gabriel is my favorite. See you during the game.

“Bullshit”
I’ve always have receipts…

Lying, unreadable bullshit”
No need to apologise
I was very wrong when I said we would have a stuttering start though it is still very early days as we have 4 tough away games on the bounce before the international break..
To beat 2 of our main competitors for the title in the first 3 games and also destroy city in the super cup is a perfect start for Arteta…
rather entertaining match…thought we should have bossed the midfield more, considering who Xavi was forced into playing, but we did just enough to secure all 3…Havertz was clearly motivated against his former club, as he was much tidier than usual…that said, even on his best day he’s still a flopping embarassment…regardless, Ode was the key and Raya a close second
at certain points a draw seemed the most likely outcome, but I’ll gladly take the extra 2 points…I wonder if a single point might have been in the cards if Rice didn’t intentionally trip Rogers, but he got away with it and Rogers ended up with a yellow for voicing his displeasure…anyways, Chelsea looks a bit ahead of schedule, as they already have the feels a more assured and mature side than at any point over the last couple of seasons…I guess only time will tell…I still think they’re a window or two away, so Xavi can properly address their starting backline and midfield depth
‘I was very wrong when I said we would…’
Fuck me. Someone’s had an epiphany. Alleleujah.
Had to laugh when Chelsea (and Vera) got the hump with Rice’s little trip on Rogers, Chelsea have spent the last few years trying to kick lumps out of our players with very little reaction so to see such an over reaction from the chavs highlights the difference between the 2 clubs .
Vera seems the think that without the coming together between Rice and Rogers Chelsea would have scored which was highly unlikely considering Cole palmer only had one thought in his head and that was to try a speculative shot..
Rogers was obviously frustrated which is understandable as he has gone to the wrong club , I’m sure he will reflect on his stupidity this week as Chelsea are not in Europe so he will have a lot of time on his hands to consider as to why he didn’t join the premier league champions.
Vera
Will just point out that it is Xabi not Xavi.
As for Chelsea properly “addressing their midfield” , it was obvious to me that they have been naive in the transfer window and are probably praying that Reece James and/or Jordan Henderson don’t break down in the next couple of months as it will come back to haunt them , unlike Arsenal’s supposed failure to bring in a left winger as we have a number of players capable of playing wide left , Tzolis once showed his quality with another assist and a very tidy and mature performance.
I agree to Wicksy. We have been kicked and fouled by everyone, we are just returning it back a bit.
Did you see Konsa manhandling one of those Chelsea scum?

Pricksy—I guess you know better than Rice now too…clearly he was fucking worried about the very real possibility that Rogers was coming late into the box unmarked…btw as if it fucking matters what did or didn’t happen in the past you fucking tool, except in the case of some sort of horrific injury…only tin foil hat fucks are keeping tabs
on a similar note, there’s never been a team of our physical size who have likewise been so fucking floppity…that’s the kind of shit that’s going to encourage other sides to take some liberties, whenever the opportunities arise…this flop-heavy script is so deeply engrained that Tzolis is already a fucking expert…the worst case scenario is those who are dirty tackling fucks and flop wizards, like Merino, Hip & Skelly…this doesn’t mean that they’re shite players, it just means they’re fucking weasels on the regular and usually bang average at best defenders(not Hip)…I don’t mind when a player is hard-nosed, but typically they aren’t cake and eat it too flopping fucks
With El B off to Barca who will be Manager at AFC – somebody who has always wanted the job and had a row with Wenger.
Norg
Don’t fucking tease.
If it meant getting rid of the cunt I’d take Martin “he’s got a peanut for a head” Jol.
much like Chelsea on the weekend, Napoli will be missing two of their regular starters in the midfield, Anguissa and McTominey…this should be a cakewalk, unless KDB channels his younger self and schools us
Vieira
In addition, they haven’t exactly started like a train in Serie A. There ought to be some people out there tonight looking to make an impact, eg Hincapie, Bruno, Gyok, Zubi and Madueke.
Marc
It was old news. Hansi apparently mentioned he wanted to work in the Premier league and Barca responded with a new contract. Whatever happened to peanut head?
Match dsy post is live.
