Right, we are out of Carabao Cup and FA Cup, but not everything is lost. We are 11 points clear of Man City in Premier League and we can take that lead to 12 points if we beat Bournemouth today. City do have 2 games in hand, but if they win both, we will still have a 6 point lead with only 6 games left for the season. In Champions League, we have a 1-0 advantage against Sporting and the second leg is at home. If we managed to get at least a draw, we will be playing Atletico (most likely) in the semi finals. I would rather play Atletico than Flick’s Barcelona.
The chance of lifting a trophy is still a possibility. And a win today will improve that possibility even more. Bournemouth are sitting in the bottom half of the table, and I hope we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot today.
Playing XI is out and I still don’t understand what has gotten into Arteta’s mind.

Why is Martinelli in the playing XI when you have Hincapie available. It’s not the time to be concerned about the injuries, because a loss in any of the games could mean a title. I’m OK with rest of the selection, Eze could have played ahead of Havertz but I’m not sure how much of his fitness is back.
I don’t understand the fact that we spend more than 250m on midfielders (Rice, Zubimendi, Norgaard, Havertz, Odegaard) and yet, we always have 2 DM-profile players and an option to choose from a non-performing Odegaard with a out-of-form Havertz. Anyway, that shouldn’t be a problem for a team sitting on 1st, playing against a bottom half team I suppose.
We need to win today. Man City has to visit Chelsea tomorrow and though I don’t have much confidence in Chelsea beating them, anything can happen. In last 3 seasons, we have always been the favorites going into last 7-8 games but have given it away. There are 7 games left, and 7 test of whether we have learned something over the years.
Right, game starts in an hour. See ya.

Burn knows better than to touch any of our flopping brigade, particularly from behind, but we’re pathetic when it comes to going to ground
neither side is playing like they want this one, which is a far bigger indictment on us than them
Why doesn’t Ode play in Gyokeres in there?
it feels as if Newcastle gave a fuck they could easily take this one, or at the very least get a draw…they basically shut things down in.the second half until that most recent chance Wissa…someone should really be checking for some unusual betting patterns…at one point, before going off, Ramsey was literally wasting time after an offside call and likely didn’t get a yellow because who the ref was thinking who the fuck does that when you’re chasing a scoreline
does MA even know that goal differential matters???
ultimately good for us, from a result standpoint, but if Howe’s side put on such a casual performance at home the Geordie fucktards would be having a shit fit and calling for his head on a platter
anything but convincing…now that was a spot on description of this one
I’ve never seen such a docile version of Newcastle (in the second half that is)
TRVL
You have to wonder if the Newcastle players think Howe’s gone and are already on the beach.
That was hard to watch on both sides Arsenal won because the Barcodes were atrocious. Wissa is like their Marinelli can’t fucking hit the side of a barn. I guess getting a 1:0 result means no one will mock City’s 1:0 against Burnley.
Gotta find something that is more adrenaline pumping then the Arteta ball shit show. Just one more week to go before the F1 starts in Miami.
Cunt.
As is that long streak of Chelsea piss.
Just looking at that gormless cunt on 200 grand a week.
Cunt.
Went to QPR earlier
Different fucking gravy.
Derby brought 3500, QPR were also on form.
No VAR, no slags or cunts either
A proper old school stadium as well
We gave ours up, for this cunt to play like Bassetts Wimbledon and maybe nick a piece of silver.
Cunts.
of course things could have been worse, but this run-up should have been all about culture building and proving the doubters wrong…instead it’s only about trying to change the cock-up narrative of our inept manager by whatever means possible…no matter what happens this season we will still be viewed as bottlers-in-waiting until we provide an alternative storyline (and the doesn’t mean winning by the skin of our teeth while playing some dire level football)
We’re top of the league. I prefer to enjoy it that and not being sad because the we won.
Some fair observations on the game itself. The variation on corners worked a treat and made some sense with the Newcastle ‘Land of the Giants’ backline.
We lost a little with Havertz going off. He was pretty effective while he was on. However, it seemed we were a little short getting to those second balls far too often for my liking, perhaps a consequence of a season of Gyok being 2nd to any ball out to him. Havertz shows his class when he plays and the players retreated in the assumption that we’d be back to the ball not sticking up front.
Gyokeres to his credit did put a shift in and that challenge by Pope was a red all day long. I haven’t seen a replay yet but as I saw it, had he not been brought down, he would have had a clear goal scoring opportunity. Whether he would have finished it or not is moot. Eze with another banger, that’s what he was bought for and seems at ease with our expectations. He’s starting to show more and do more. Perhaps a bit too much with some loose through balls but hey, raffles, tickets, handbrake and all that.
A feel-good sub in Saka. A bit of MLS in midfield, clapping off Willock.
Relieved vibes at the Ems, a big week awaits. Our approach today will put us in a good frame of mind for AMadrid. I’ll take 1-0s all the way down the line.
Killjoy, you don’t really need adrenaline at this stage, you need wins.
Marc, you’re missing out. Get back to enjoy the run in, the vibes and being top of the league.
Fart Fraud, sorry your team lost today.
Slags like you
Are the exact reason we never kicked on and became Bayern, PSG, Barcelona or Real.
Slags like you are happy to nick a 1 nil against these midtable Geordie slags and charge the cunts who attend the dearest tickets in Europe to watch this cack.
You, you slag are the problem.
Condemned heritage and Highbury to the dustibin to watch this cunt play like Bassetts Wimbledon all just to nick a trophy every 10 years
Slag/cunt
Thats what you cunts will always be
Vera, this run in is about winning games and getting points. And we get over the line doing just that, there’s no narrative apart from being champions.
I’ll be well pleased if we manage it. I’d imagine all Arsenal supporters will be.
Only in your delusional head could being top of the league and semis of the UCL 2md year running equate to a ‘cock up narrative’. That’s so weird.
Fart Fraud, Loftus Rd was a shithole even in plastic pitch days.
You’re just cheap. Come and watch top tier football when your Universal Credit allows.
You have shown your true colours you slag.
So you can only support your club if you have enough money to top up these Kroenke billionaires cunts bank balances in your world.
Anyone with fuck all, not wanted.
And you would not know , top tier football, if you watched Brazil 1970
You slag
Rot.
“Gyokeres to his credit did put a shift in and that challenge by Pope was a red all day long.”
So was Gabriel’s on Haaland last week and would have resulted in a 3 match ban – we won today without Gabriel that wouldn’t have been guaranteed.
Marc, I don’t care about last week and it has no bearing with me on whether Pope should have seen red or not. There was a clear goal scoring opportunity, it was a foul, the foul denied a goal scoring opportunity, it’s a red all day long.
What has last week got to do with this terrible decision?
Nothing is guaranteed in football. I’m really not clear of the point you’re trying to make here. Perhaps make it rather than worry about last week which wasn’t a red and shouldn’t have been.
