WIN but full of errors!

I don’t wanna sound negative but we tried everything to bring ourselves down. David Luiz almost gave away a goal when his pass fall into the legs of Olympiacos player 2m away from the goal and he didn’t convert it. We gave away our only goal when Dani lost a simple pass from Leno.

There were other moments in the match where any Arsenal fan had his heart in his mouth. But lets get to the positives, because you know, we won. And I’m sure a 2 away goals lead is enough for us to qualify to quarters.

Our first goal came from Ødegaard with a wonderful strike. It was a beautiful hit from outside the box and no one had any chance to stop it. We dropped our performance though, Olympiacos scored meanwhile and things were looking similar to Burnley match.

Then came a cross from Willian from a short corner, Gabriel took onto himself to end the boring fest and scored a marvelous header. It was simply brilliant, we have been poor with headers after all.

Arteta brought in Elneny from the bench, it took him 5min to score what can be one of the best goal of this season. A precise, curling away shot to the goal where keeper had no chance to stop it. He did manage to get his hand but it was not enough. A 3-1 lead in away leg – enough for the day.

This won’t cover up some of the things though. We were poor in final third again. It was not a good day for Auba and Partey kept losing ball in first half. Willian, although got an assist, was nothing electric you would expect him to be and it’s high time Arteta stops favoring him on the cost of Martinelli and Pepe.

Playing from the back sounds great but we don’t have the required players. We gifted a goal against Burnley, we gifted one yesterday. We won but most of the time it’s going to get you a bad result. We have to cut down these mistakes and reduce back passing. I’m sure Arteta had these in mind, either he will bring in the players who he needs or change tactically.

A good win against Spurs on Sunday and that would be the perfect way to finish the week. Now is the time to support our lads, some good performance for some more matches in Europa and we will be playing Champions League football.

That’s it for today, don’t forget to share your match analysis in the comments below.
