Yesterday’s match was frustrating. We should have won easily, we got a lead in first 10 min and then we gave away a goal as a gift. We had second half to score some more but we didn’t wrap it up. We were robbed off of a clear penalty and hit the bar couple of times.
The chance to qualify Champions League through top 4 went almost dead. Europa is still alive and I’m hoping my heart out we qualify for it. The extra money that comes through Champions League football can get us a good midfielder to support Thomas Partey and we even need a Tierney’s back up.
There’s a lot to learn though after the match. Arteta needs to stop believing in players who keeps pulling him down. Xhaka needs to be shifted, Pepe needs to start ahead of Willian, David Luiz might have a good game or two but he is not the one who will be there when we win the Premier League in coming years.
Young players needs to be trusted more and given game time. Martinelli was one of the hottest prospect before the injury last season and although he is just a glimpse of himself this season with limited chances, you can always see the hunger and fight in him. He needs more game time to partner with Saka & ESR.
Our future can be built around these 3 your players with Thomas bossing the midfield! It shouldn’t be around Willian, David Luiz & Lacazette.
A mix of youth and experience is required not just for the youth to learn from it, but to sustain the current position and no deteriorate any further. We are sitting on 10th with Partey, Willian added in the squad . That’s poor and for a club this big, should be unacceptable.
