Wolves ahead – a must WIN

It has been a pretty boring couple of weeks for Gooners! With no Premier League football and transfer click bait news, I had to go and watch Barcelona vs Atletico to keep myself occupied. Auba played for few minutes coming of bench but since Barca were a man down, it wasn’t a match to access if his decline at Arsenal was gradual or specific to Arteta’s system; time will tell…

Anyways, I’m in no mood to criticize anything today. We are in the top 4 mix with 17 games left for us.

Without going into the no. of matches played and permutations & combinations, we have a fight with West Ham, Tottenham, Man United and Wolves for that one spot.

The ones which we can expect to win on a good day would the two Wolves game (H & A), Tottenham (H), Brentford (H), Watford (A), Leicester (H), Aston Villa (A), Crystal Palace (A), Brighton (H), Southampton (A), Leeds (H), New Castle (A) & Everton (H).

Tough games would be against Chelsea (A), Liverpool (H), Man United (H), West Ham (A) – where if we manage 1 point would be considered a good result.

That’s 39 points to grab for Mikel and team. It won’t be easy but it’s achievable with the players we have. The most important thing would be to gain confidence back after a poor January and go on a winning run. And we have to start with Wolves on Thursday!

Partey and Xhaka would be back. Team had a nice holiday-cum-training in Dubai and would be fresh. Although we didn’t address the CF and CM positions in this window, we still have decent enough squad to give a fight. Consistency, no injuries and no outrageous referring costing us points and we should make it. I’m guessing Arteta would stick with Lacazette as the pivot with Martinelli and Saka on the wings and either of ESR and Ode playing as no# 10. Midfield will be controlled by Xhaka and Partey and back 4 remains pretty much same.

People noticed Tomi was absent from our training pics in Dubai and it would be shame if he is not fit enough to play. It’s a big difference in quality between Tomi and Cedric. We might see White moved to RB and Holding starting if he can’t make it but lets just hope it don’t come to that!

I have ranted enough in my previous post, so I guess this is all I have for today.
