Well, today’s the final act of Premier League season 2024-25. Everyone gets to play today at 4 PM BST and though there’s nothing left for us, it’s going to be an exciting day for some others.
First half of the table is quite interesting. Liverpool has won the league, we have qualified for Champions League and irrespective of what happens today, we will finish second (again). As there are 5 teams eligible to play in Champions League next season, the other 3 spots are to be contested on the last day. Man City plays Fulham away, Newcastle will host Everton at home, Chelsea and Forest fight each other while Aston Villa visits Old Trafford to play one of the worst Man Utd teams in history.

Looks saucy and could turn out to be better if Everton does the unthinkable.
There’s not much to talk about for the second half of the table. The bottom 3 teams were so poor that the relegation battle ended months ago, and only if one of them could have been a bit better, we could have seen a miracle of Spurs playing in Champions League while getting relegated, all at the same time.

Arsenal game against Southampton has little to no consequence. If we lose, we shrug it off, and will forget about it before the next season begins. If we win, we finish the season at 74 points, and that would change fuck all. So, what should we do today? I don’t know but please do not play Havertz. If he scores, we know Mikel will not buy a CF and we will finish second again next season.
There has been some chatter about Arsenal looking for Sesko. Frankly, I have not seen much of him, but I do have seen Gyokeres play a couple of times and I would rather pick the later. He has put down his papers at Sporting, and has some unbelievable stats this season with 39 goals and 7 assists in 33 games. He is 26, young enough to be considered on the positive side of age and old enough for the experience. Also, it’s not a one season wonder because he scored 29 goals and 10 assists in 2023-24 and had 6 goals in 8 games in Champions League.
There has also been some rumours regarding Mikel wanting to sell Martinelli. It’s not going to happen, Mikel wants him and plays him every time because he has the ability to engage couple of defenders, pulling them away from the box which allows the likes of Saka, Merino, Odegaard to play the game on the right. I hate it and would rather want some freedom for Martinelli but we have seen how rigid his game is, and it’s not because he likes it. Martinelli is not going anywhere, and considering that we will sell him at 40m, spend 80m to get a cheap copy of him, it’s the right decision. If you want to bring a LW, Trossard should be replaced. He has lost that knack of scoring lately and is just growing older.
Zubimendi is done deal. Arsenal is also looking to give Thomas Partey a contract. Look, it’s not a bad decision at all. Jorginho will leave, and Declan Rice is going to play the advance role like he did this season. We will again be playing 2 games a week for a better part of the season and with Thomas, you don’t have to worry about anything. He is adjusted to the system, probably one of the best DMs in premier league and to get a fraction of what he offers, we will have to shell money. I don’t want to see another 30m on a understudy (Sambi, Tavares?) which restricts us to reinforce other area of the pitch. A CF is must, an LW is needed, an Odegaard upgrade is needed and with Tierney, Zinchenko, Kiwior(?) leaving, we would need a LB because Calafiori is injury prone and MLS is too young to be starting twice a weak.
Right, that’s me done. I am going to wear my ‘hate watch’ hat and celebrate one of the Man City or Newcastle losing out the Champions League spot.
Who would you prefer?

With that team selection does shit for brains not realise that we haven’t guaranteed 2nd?
Our goal difference maybe someway in front but we lose 2 nil and City go mad?
I’m assuming we’re all well-aware that in order to win awards of a personal/subjective nature one needs a PR team to work tirelessly on your behalf…in this vein, there’s no group of slimy fucks who works harder to scour the footballing universe for any way in which they can frame our flailing manager in a positive light than Arteta’s PR minions..case in point, I was reading an article today entitled “Legends who returned to manage their club”, which was clearly inspired by Real’s Alonso hiring…on that list were the following players/coaches: Seedorf, Lampard, Pep, Simeone, Rooney, Zidane, Xavi and Arteta…one of these things is not like the others…can you identify which one of these names is not like the others??? it’s about as easy as a Where’s Waldo where he’s the only caucasian guy in the room…what a thirsty fuck!!!
on a side note, Sterling was voted as the worst transfer of the season…by some margin I might add
you just know Ramsdale was yelling fuck you Arteta when he made that save on Marts…btw that was only a handful, or less, times this whole season that such a longball produced any such opportunity
Tierney was probably yelling the same thing when he scored!!
Tierney enjoying his last day at Arsenal. A true gooner, never complained, did his job and did whatever was asked for.
there has only been a handful of times. or less…
Ambarish—don’t be so sure on the Marts front, especially if Tross is re-upped and we acquire another left-sided forward…furthermore, Zubi might not be a given if Partey is re-upped
Zubi is a done deal, most likely Partey be asked to play Jorgi role.
As things stand, Villa and Forest are not going to Champions league. 45 minutes left to change that.
Watched Highlights of Arsenal vs Barca women.
Our girls are fighters. Initially outplayed by Barca . Incidentally Barca was strong in midfield and forward but iffy at the back. The new Arsenal goalie is taller and definitely an improvement , but was clearly beaten by a couple of Barca strikes which fortunately went out.
But Berkennstine goal was an outcome of 2 prior brave through passes , last by our No 9 .
Do see the match each time our men’s shit show gets on the nerves. Available on Utube
not so fast on that Ambarish—rumours have already surfaced regarding Zubi’s disdain for any potential “competition” for his preferred position…let’s not forget this fuck has been announced as signed by multiple teams in the last 12 months…not to mention, why would Partey want that insanely sparse Jorginho role, as he has several suitors who would feature him
TRVL
I am more of a physical presence in midfield than technicality. If he goes, he goes…
I’m still hopeful that Everton can do us a favour so that we might have a go for Isak
Ambarish—Zubi isn’t a physical presence…maybe we should be playing Rice there, after all we paid 100+M for that exact reason
So, India and UK agreed on a trade deal and jameson’s 15% costlier. I have no idea where did they study – both indians and english politicians because BBC did say malts and irish will be cheaper. I am frustrated about that today.
TRVL
Can’t agree more with that. Rice as a DM and lets go out and get an attacking midfielder would be perfect. Zubi is not physical at all, but Ornstein is mostly a reliable source and he has confirmed it so..
Ideally, we should have gotten a AM and replace havertz/ Merino, play Rice as a DM and promote Nwaneri ahead of Odegaard.
Hoopah
I watched the highlight as well, girls fought it better than Mikel and team.
Ambarish
If you go for Irish ,why not American whiskeys . Might be much cheaper if Trumpetji can twist the testicles of our own a bit more
Bambi – on -ice coming in as a last throw of dice
LoL
Ambarish—Arteta such take a page out his bestie’s book, who btw gazzumped him again with his hiring at Real, and employ a more wingback-friendly system…just imagine if we had the balls to get rid of Havertz, Jesus, Tross and White then acquired Wirtz, a Nico-like forward and Isak…we could deploy Rice deeper, in between Saliba and Gabs, then have Skelly and Timber taking turns bombing up the pitch…in order to appease Rice, every once in awhile one of the backers would retreat a bit deeper so he could aggressively pursue more advanced spaces…in this role Rice wouldn’t have to be relied on too much as a pivot, a role in which he has struggled with at times, because we would have two real AMs in Ode and Wirtz on the ptich…this would provide us with a far more direct and balanced approach
Arteta should take…
Hoopah—Bambi on steriods
