Last few weeks hasn’t really been positive around me. I should say sorry again for missing out things here and I really appreciate you sticking at LiR and looking out for me. Football is an escape but sometimes it takes the backseat.
Football.
Nothing has changed, we are still being robbed by the referees in important games. I believe people do extraordinary things only when things don’t go as they like. We are going to be the Premier League winners despite these controversies and the hate against us. PGMOL is biased, I don’t know if it’s monetary or their inclination towards a particular club or if it’s the fear against the new big ones – but they are and you can see it. They are adamant in ruining the reputation of the best league in the world.
Despite all the negativities and controversies, we are sitting 2nd behind Liverpool. Klopp looks determined to be part of the title run and I think it’s good in a way. It takes away the pressure from us, or at least distribute it among two teams of competing against Man City. A team who had 115 charges against them and haven’t been punished whilst Everton was penalised for a much lesser crime.
In Champions League, our last group stage game against PSV is tomorrow. If it was me, I would be happy playing every kid I have at my disposal even if it meant I would lose 4-0. The game is not important, losing it won’t hamper your confidence, and the lads needs some rest. Plus, playing a 18 year old in one of the grandest stage gives motivation to other academy players to improve and thrive for it. It would be interesting to see tomorrow what Arteta does.
Tomiyasu is injured again. Ben White is the only RB available now and we are one injury away from playing Cedric. That’s alright in my opinion. You can’t have 3 world class RB in a team. A good manager will manage it with Cedric or a make-shift adjustment or play Martinelli at RB to win games if I care. There is just no need to get another RB like some of us are demanding. However, we should certainly ask an outside panel to investigate these many injuries. Some of them are not impact injuries which happened because of a bad tackle or a bad landing on the pitch. It’s happening in training, outside the 90min.
Games left this year in Premier League are against Brighton (H), Liverpool (A), West Ham (H), Fulham (A). Anfield away will be real test for Mikel and will probably decide our title challenge. Get a win (or even a point) and that would make sure we remain in the competition. Every game is important, and losing to Unai Emery has certainly made life difficult for Arteta.
Arteta is in his 4th season. He will be judged at the end of this season. No trophy and finishing 2nd is not going to count this year. We are in 2 competition and we have a squad that Mikel wanted after spending more than half a billion dollar. Get us a trophy, because I’m sure with half a billion, Wenger can still do things Klopp / Pep can’t do.
Right, that’s all for me today. Hope you are well and preparing for the that Christmas get together with some turkey and wine.
Hi Ambarish
VERY good to hear from you my friend. I sincerely hope things are on the up. There’s not much more that I can say, but if there’s ever anything I can do…
Take it easy mate and look after yourself. We’re all primarily bound by a love for The Arsenal but as humans our friendships go much deeper than that.
Thank you, KP. Yes, eventually it gets better. Hope everything is alright at your end, and we have a good game to look forward to. Nwaneri is one to look out for today, may be Walter too; if Arteta do not take it personally of trying to win a game that don’t matter at all.
Arteta wasn’t brave enough to start the kids.
a savvy manager would have used this particular affair to empty the backbenches and try something different, from a tactical standpoint, as many of those playing tonight are periphery players and/or late game options, so why not setup as you might in that latter situation…instead we went with the same old, same old, which meant very little directness, minus a couple off-script runs by Elneny, and a whole heaping of bluntness by our resident bull in a china shop duo, Havertz and Eddie…at one point, Havertz literally had the ball at the edge of the box, with no one blocking his view of the goal, yet he still passed out wide to someone with a far worst shooting angle and a defender between him and the Keeper to boot…looks like our winning of anything will be intimately tied to our ability to score a fucking plethora of garbage goals
Ambarish-hope all is well now, but no matter what life throws your way don’t further complicate things by leaning too heavily into the tin foil mad hatters, who love nothing more than to spin a conspiratorial tale…Cheers
Hi Vieira
I think it was a creditable display. I worry that had they lost, it might’ve got in their minds a little before getting back to PL action. Reiss was especially sharp in my opinion.
I won’t be happy if Manure pull off some kind of miracle tonight.
KP-to each his own, but after our scoreless Villa match, which simply highlighted our final third deficiencies, I would have liked to see something a little different on the pitch tonight…if you can’t take some tactical chances in a game that meant functionally nothing, when can you?!? to go out there and simply give players, many of whom will never start, the same blueprint seems a little too chickenshit and reductive for my liking…Cheers
Give it a few weeks and the fan boys will be moaning about injuries and making excuses about poor results because of them – of course they won’t connect the same small number of players being run into the ground by Arteta again.
We are going to face a serious problem with the youth system collapsing if Arteta isn’t fired soon – no coaches are going to sign up for a system where none of the players ever make it and parents won’t send their kids to us for the same reason.
Whew! for a moment there I thought I had somehow been banned from another blog, as I wasn’t able to access the site on my previous attempt…I was starting to think you might have taken my earlier “tin foil” comments the wrong way Ambarish…Cheers
Haha, it’s not that bad here :))
Marc
Yes it’s getting pathetic now. The only positive of last night was that ESR got few minutes and is probably closer to full fitness.
Odegaard for Elneny, White for Saliba, Rice for Cedric, ESR for Havertz and Jesus for Nelson…
No balls to bring in Walters, Nwaneri ina game that didn’t matter at all is not a good sign. You can lose a non important game if it means experience for the kids at the highest level. Mertesacker or Edu needs to tell Arteta about this. If Nwaneri feels like a Jack Wilshere (Arteta’s words, not mine), he can play against PSV. Wilshere was wrecking havoc on Barcelona at that age.
Grow a pair Mikel.
“”Give it a few weeks and the fan boys will be moaning about injuries and making excuses about poor results because of them””
Yep, and they will forget their reasons to play the same starting XI week in week out.
KP
Manure is bringing us happiness and long it may continue.
Feel sorry for Ten Hag because he is doomed by the players and management.
Hi Ambarish and all
Sorry to hear life is difficult and then it has to take precedence.
I’ll drop you a line after Xmas as I will be coming to Nepal and down into India.
We’ve always got your back and shout out if you want a post and give some as guidelines. I certainly have the time being retired. We are all friends here and are here to support you with LIR.
I won’t comment on the football and put you all to sleep because it’s all been said before.
Keep the Gooner flag flying at LIR
Sent you an email Ambarish off topic.
With City dropping more points today its beginning to look more than a blip. Its not a lack of talent they might have to look at a minor rebuild in the summer to bring in some fresh hunger.
If Arteta doesn’t win the title this season that’ll be twice he’s thrown golden chances away – wonder what excuses the fan boys will come up with this time.
Fan boys have already started saying that Liverpool is going to have one of their best seasons under Klopp.
Excuses.
No trophy this season and I’m going to rebrand this website to Arteta-out.com.
Ooo er. It’s gonna be one of those cunty refs who thinks skillful players deserve to be kicked to even things up a bit.
Sad but it will be reality Ambarish. Klopp did better business last summer and will win this season.
Usual home game so far first 30 on the front foot and hope to score.
When the game is balanced in small margins our forwards are not good enough.
We need a striker who can score at 50% of his clear sighted shots. Jesus is not that good nor Eddie.
We’re playing strong, almost error-proof football until we’re in a position to score. Frustrating. Very impressed with Ode today
Pretty sure we’ll take the 3 points but will make hard work of it.
Both teams playing a similar style football with asymmetric passing movement of the ball. In other words we are playing like Brighton. But given our superior players we should get one or two accross. Decclan Rice is however stand out.
Goal by Jesus off a corner
Dunk got a direct hot on the testicles. Fortunately the longstaff took a major impact ,so is ok now.
De Zorbi changed his players and tweaked the game.
Havertz is still playing like a timid gatepost diverting passes. Saying this in a positive way
If it was not for a fluke goal and penalty , Havertz trajectory of heading is consistently over the bar
The nut is so tall that he does not even have jump much to make a contact
Jawohl!
If Havertz had not buried that was fit to sold to a Championship Club
2-0 for Arsenal
I thought that was generally OK given de Zerbi (and Potter before him) usually do much better against Arsenal. Some outstanding performances – Rice (as usual!), Ode and Jesus. Defence unflappable including Nostrildamus.
I had a brilliant day out yesterday watching County grind out a 1-nil win up at Caernarfon (where the medieval castle looks as wonderful as ever). I was sat right by the tunnel and congratulated the manager and players as they left the pitch. It was a really nice moment – you’d never get a experience like that in the top leagues. A perfect day out.
Hoopah
Hi mate. The games are about to cone thick and fast. That was a fine start. All well with you?

Check it out guys. I’m using a bit of poetic licence but Haverfordwest’s goal brought memories of Bergkamp feeding Henry back in the day.
One must tip their cap to DeZerbi considering that he lost his engine room in the off-season and has subsequently faced a plethora of pertinent injuries this season…it’s amazing to think that some of Arteta’s most ardent apologists were actually willing to give him a pass on the heels of Timber’s early days injury, whereas DeZerbi has managed to stabilize what could have easily been a sinking ship, with a whole host of relatively unknown entities…I shudder to think what he and Mr. Bloom might have done with our young guns and the proper financical backing
as for today’s affair, a lot of nice triangular movement and passing, but we’re still a blunt instrument when it matters most…we clearly need to add some clinical finishing in the upcoming window or we’ll undoubtedly face the consequences of not making the most of our chances…personally I would like to see us get a Striker of some import then have Jesus replace the silver platter King, Havertz, in the starting lineup…his link-up play, ability with his back to goal and savviness when it comes to finding holes in the box when the play is ahead of him, make him a good fit to usurp our vastly overpaid German passenger…on a positive note, we finally started to send defenders into the box during open play, which should have been implemented some time ago…thankfully we walked away with all 3 points, especially knowing that we’ve got Pool away on the horizon
KP sounded like the days you live for yesterday being around the game.
De Zerbi made it difficult for Arteta and only the difference in class of players won us the game.
Now I have the big screen I find it more interesting because the view is vastly more spacious. Difficult to explain.
You guys are right in what you’re saying with Pool and City dropping points today was a must win 3 points.
I’d replied TRVL 🙂
Sounds plausible

Wake up guys.
Can speak your mind here , good audience
Hoopah-it would be difficult to argue what JC’s postulating, as even though Pool acquired a couple top-notch midfielders, neither can provide the kind of defensive zone coverage that Rice clearly can…meanwhile MA has spent/wasted enormous sums of money trying to properly redress our Keeper position, which frankly was in the best position possible when he arrived on the scene…considering the amount of assurances he’s handed out since that time, just imagine what might have been if our managerial newbie hadn’t tried to establish himself by dying on the Emi hill…that said, I still think Pool would benefit more in this speculative occasion, as they need a true-blue DM more than we need a Keeper upgrade, in that any such mive wouldn’t solve our final third issues
If you follow Carra on Twitter enough, you would start seeing how wrong he is, most of the time.
I think he is only half right here, Alisson would surely have won some points for us but they couldn’t have been 6 points clear even with Declan Rice. Klopp lost some big names, and the front 3 of Mane, Salah and Firmino was irreplaceable.
We are winning the league this season – I heard Rodri was injured in the club wc game.

Just read your comment, agree to disagree on this :))
Hi all
Looking forward to the game tonight so see you there guys.
