North London is Red!

North London is Red!

What a wonderful way to end the weekend. We beat Spurs after going down at Emirates, first half performance was probably the best of the season and kids were brilliant. There was some nervy ending at the end when Spurs went down to 10 players but we sailed past it. Three important points, against Spurs, on a Sunday evening – couldn’t have been better.

Match Analysis

Most shocking part of the game was seeing Aubameyang on bench due to disciplinary issue.

We dominated Spurs from the beginning. Emile-Smith Rowe hit a perfectly timed curling shot which hit the far post and could have been a wonderful first Premier League goal for him for Arsenal. Son then picked up an injury and was replaced by Lamela who scored one of the best goals in this season. He pulled up a Rabona beating Partey and everyone.

This didn’t bother us though. We kept pressing, Cedric’s shot hit the woodwork again before Laca missed the chance to score from middle. Just before the half time, Tierney crossed a ball to Odegaard which landed in the goalpost after a little deflection from Toby.

In second half, we continued with the performance and earned a penalty when Sanchez fouled him in the D. We went 2-1 up after VAR deemed the decision was right. Eric Lamela was soon sent out after a foul on KT, his second Yellow. Kane did have couple of moments towards the end of the game but a brilliant save from Gabriel made sure we are riding it out.

Players Analysis

Partey was immense except the last 15 minutes. ESR played like a peak De Bruyne, only to miss out a goal by few inches. Odegaard looks like one of our own, you can always see him involved and he will be a great addition to the team if we decide to buy him. Saka, as usual was very good till he picked up that injury; hopefully it’s not a serious one. KT – take a bow! You have been the most consistent player for us this season.

Our defending was great, Luiz and Gabriel hold the fort. Cedric showed why he was preferred over Bellerin, he is faster and do not loses ball as often. Xhaka has upped his game, his mistakes have reduced and provide a solid partnership to Partey. Laca did miss couple of good chances which I believe Auba would have scored but he earned an important penalty and made sure to bury it.

Over to you

That’s it for today, I’m still buzzing from yesterday’s win. Don’t forget to share how happy it made you in the comments.

Ode was brilliant. We trust in the process.

Yes, we have been seeing improvements once ESR and Saka became regulars in the team. Ode is quality and the only concern is Auba is out of form.
