North London Derby – postpone everything for tomorrow

North London Derby – postpone everything for tomorrow

When any two clubs are level on points after 5 games and are going to play each other, it’s already a rivalry. However, if the two clubs happens to be the Arsenal and Spuds, it’s not rivalry but a WAR. North London Derby is here, on a British Sunday Afternoon, at Emirates. If you have got any plans, I would rather suggest to forget about it and restock your refrigerator. Waitrose opens at 10 am on Sunday and 4 hours are sufficient to sort out any scarcity.

Arsenal v Tottenham is one of the biggest game of this season. The result will affect both the teams, for one is trying to compete for the title and the other one is trying to show the world they, still, are a part of the top 6. A win today will move us ahead of our arch rivals and closer to Manchester City. A win today will keep our confidence high. And for the fans, a win today will mean the world.

Right, that’s a lot of emotion from me on a Sunday morning. Lets get back to the facts.

In the team news, I doubt Martinelli will be available for today. Even if he makes it, I don’t think Arteta will risk him with games coming thick and fast, and when we have a back up in Trossard who is doing exceptionally well for whatever chances he is getting. Raya is probably gonna get the start ahead of Ramsdale again today and the back 4 will remain same. It would be interesting to see whom Mikel prefers in the midfield alongside Declan Rice. Will it be his favorite Havertz, or the in-form Vieira? I would personally go with Vieira, never replace a confident player unless he needs resting.

We need Gabriel Jesus up top and we need him to do the famous Henry slide in the corner after his hattrick today. Saka has been phenomenal until now and I don’t have to guess that he will only improve his performance. He is already excited for the game, and has to say this when asked about the game.

I’m really excited. It’s a massive advantage. Personally, the feeling I have every time I play at the Emirates is that we’re going to win and the people are behind us. The support that the fans give us, not allowing us to lose, gives us that extra confidence boost.

Well, here’s the bitter pill. It’s not going to be easy. Spuds are having a new manager bounce and though they don’t have the usual scorer against Arsenal in Harry Kane, they are playing better than their own standards. Derbys are more emotion than the talent, and we must make sure we keep our emotions in check, score 3 by the half time and not let them have any chances. We need to be solid defensively, whoever plays at CF need to make most of the chances he gets and we must keep them pressed for the whole game. We must also be careful about the goals we concede in the first few minutes of the games; no lapse in concentration will be accepted.

Right, there’s not much for today except the excitement. We have beaten them in both of our games last season, and I hope we do the third on them today. Convincingly.

I will see you during the match.

really, Jesus not Eddie comes off…I guess something absolutely horrific has to happen before ESR sees the fucking pitch…we could be in trouble here

  2. The Real Vieira Lynn

we’re asking for trouble if we’re going to invite pressure with this lineup on the pitch

  3. We got no midfield now, so why no ESR?

  4. Kroenkephobe

    Getting tired and very sloppy.

  5. The Real Vieira Lynn

Eddie’s unjustified call-up is going to cost us, as it will lead to more minutes in our kit…imagine what odds you could get on a possession % bet in this fixture on our pitch

  6. The Real Vieira Lynn

I’m telling you straight-up, all the shit MA had to eat when other offers came in for ESR, made matters expotentially worse for the kid, as you know full-well our dimuntive MIT is a totally vindictive cunt

  7. The Real Vieira Lynn

I don’t really get our very static set piece strategy today

  8. The Real Vieira Lynn

    Bissouma made Havertz his bitch

  9. Would be poetic justice if ESR scored the Winner

  10. The Real Vieira Lynn

first PL appearance of the season for ESR…what a fucking joke

  11. Hoopah

ESR come at 96 minutes to provide justification to Arteta for keeping him on the bench unsold

  12. The Real Vieira Lynn

Tony-if he can’t get on the pitch until the final few minutes of a fixture when MA chose this largely counter-dependent approach, then he’s fucked, as his directness would have made far more sense than what Vieira brings to that particular equation

  13. First dent in our challenge with Pool and City winning.

  14. Kroenkephobe

Fuck it – disappointing but probably a fair result. Arsenal have to stop folding after they go ahead. It ought to be an easy fix.

Arteta is just a nasty piece of work. Spuds were worthy of their draw and I don’t concede that often. Was Trossard injured or rested?
    .
A full 100 for ESR would have got his tail up and he would have been I believe instrumental in a win. Havertz and Vieira are not right for our #8 position.

  16. Kroenkephobe

    Any news on Rice?

I know it’s Carabao this week so hopefully almost all the first team get a rest.

Spuds looked slightly fresher than us in the second half which is to be expected. I hope we fucking slaughter them at their place later in the season

  17. KP
It is but Arteta can’t see it because of his multi dimensional tactical fluency in action. Simple positional football after scoring is not in Mikel’s remit.

  18. Ambarish K

Rice felt something in the calf. The commentator said his calf was wrapped up during half time.

Not a good thing, as Partey is out for some time.

  19. One thing I’ve noticed about the Spuds is their inbuilt resilience Ange P has developed throughout the team. Something we greatly lack.

  20. Ambarish K

We should have won this. I’m gutted.

  21. I think Ange P has De Zerbi levels in him. Good spot a few years ago TRVL.

  22. Art Fraud

    Cunt.

    Could have had Maddison.
Instead that gormless no good cunt Havertz.

Got lucky against Man Utd, who are truly shit with that scandalous VAR.

    Has to go.
    De Zerbi.

  23. The Real Vieira Lynn

you just can’t have so many high-priced players being continually deployed in central positions who can’t clinically finish…at least Jesus has other skills in his toolbox, whereas Havertz and Eddie are basically bodies with a poacher’s chance of impacting a match…when you’re basically gifted two goals, you simply must get all 3 points, especially at home

  24. What’s more worrying is our growing injury list. Maybe niggles now, but with our limited squad they will soon be maturing into full blown muscle tears/strain et al.
    .
3 of our subs are not at our required level. On that note I’ll bid you all a good night.

  25. The Real Vieira Lynn

the fact that we added 3 players for a grand total of 200+M yet not a one is likely to increase our goalscoring tally this season is almost unthinkable…we needed to get a player with goals in him before the window closed, but alas our MIT was far too concerned about getting another starting Keeper and conducting his firesale

  26. Marc

    “but with our limited squad”

How can a billion pound squad be termed limited?

  27. Marc

My basic take on the match –

our squad / team is far superior to that of the Spuddies.

The Spuddies lost their best player and Captain during the summer.

The Spuddies have a manager who after half a dozen games have them performing so they are better than the sum of their parts.

We were lucky not to lose.

They had more possession than us.

After £650 odd million and having inherited Saka, Saliba, Martinelli, Tierney, Gabriel, ESR etc under Arteta we’re still a work in progress.

Players who have no history of being injury prone turn into crocks after they sign for us.

  28. Marc

Not sure how to put a comment into the voice of Hank Moody but:

    mother fucker

  29. Marc
Yes, the ever brilliant David Duchovny at his absolute best. 7 seasons each as good as the last. Sadly, we can’t say that about yesterday’s performance. I wondered during the game what your thoughts would be? Every one makes sense.

Just got to watch the Wales v Australia game and loved it. Wales just laid their statement of intent. To be fair the Aussis were underwhelming with their mistakes and penalty count, but Wales play the young Eddie Jones side off the park.
    .
Will be hilarious if Australia don’t manage a quarter final birth.

  30. Kroenkephobe

    Hi Tony

I think they’re already knocked out having lost to Wales and Fiji. Oh dear, what a shame! 🏉💩

Their cricket team isn’t looking too clever either on the eve of the ODI World Cup. Lost their last 5 warm up games I think. But too early to write them off yet. These types of tournaments are real crap shoots. A lot needs to go right to get to the semis, let alone win the final. India, Pakistan, England, SA, Sri Lanka and Australia all in with a shout I’d say. As host nation, India are favourites would say Ambarish?

I dont think you and junior watch it but give it a go if you can get it there.

NLD numbness has set in. No one in their right mind would say the team nor manager would say we’d made progress. Cardiff on the other hand…. 3 game winning streak is giving Bluebirds a nosebleed. 🐦🐦🐦

  31. Hoopah

You can now call Kai Havertz
    James Bond 007

    Goals -0
    Assists -0
    Games -7

the following info was published by the BBC:

    Big Chances created-13-PL rank-12th
    Big Chances scored-5-PL rank-8th
    Big Chances missed-8-PL rank 9th
    Expected goals-11.4-PL rank 8th
    Shot Conversion Rate-12%-PL rank-8th

hardly the kind of numbers one might logically expect on the heels of our unprecedented summer spending spree…of course, it certainly doesn’t help that we didn’t acquire a single, solitary player with even a modicum of clinical finishing on their respective CVs…frankly I was surprised the rankings weren’t lower, but, in the end, you reap what you sow

  33. TRYL
The problem is, like the last 2 seasons, we knew this was the most likely outcome, and I expect it to get worse if the injuries keep piling up.
    .
Let’s hope we can keep our challenging on all fronts so ALL our 2nd teamers’/bench/youth get substantial minutes and not as previously not worry about the lesser cups that are the blood for young players getting experience and established players finding their form ala Havertz.
    .
VL? You have any idea what’s causing injuries to our players and especially new incoming players all seem to break when they didn’t at their previous clubs?

  34. KP
Cardiff making you proud is cool, but sadly we know deep down what this season is going to be. No much how much we hope against as in the 2 previous seasons, we will be scraping into the CL if we’re lucky.
    .
Long way to go but the signs are not looking good for our title challenge we were supposed to be mounting.
    .
Good news is the Guardian reporting Rice only sustained a back spasm and should be fit for bournemouth.

  35. The Real Vieira Lynn

Tony-it’s hard to discount the notion that players seem to be exceedingly more fragile once they’re donning our kit, but I don’t have nearly enough “inside” info to properly assess the situation…all I would say is that there’s not a one size fits all approach when it comes to conditioning practices, which I think has been a problem since our move to the Emirates…Wenger was well-known for his rather unique regimantation regarding all things health and maintenance-related, including the imposing of strict dietary protocols, but maybe this created another blinders moment where those involved failed to keep up with the latest trends/advancements…you would think if someone had no previous injury history of note that our traiing staff would be savvy enough to inquire about their previous regiment so as to create a logical baseline, instead of simply disregarding that information and pursuing a completely different course of action…Cheers

If Arteta is galaxy brain with training as well, then maybe that’s the simple answer. Mikel doesn’t listen to advice. The sage knows best.
    .
Arteta making a big thing about starting ESR and telling him to claim his rightful place.
    .
To do that I assume ESR is going to have to score a hat trick at the bare minimum. A couple of goal line clearances saving our GD and 2 assists. Even then, you can bet Havertz will be back at 8 for the Bournemouth game.
    .
It was the same with Pepe; he’d show up and have a good game with goals in the 20/21 season but left out the next game and pretty much exiled thereafter. Maybe Pepe knew his body limitations and Arteta was asking too much in training. Not every player is a training demon.
    .
White will be the next player to break; he looks gassed around the 60 minute mark and is now our right is just as weak as our left side.
    .
If we lose tonight, for sure it will be ESR’s fault in Mikel’s eyes and Brentford away is a tough game for any PL side.

  37. Kroenkephobe

Reiss has put Arsenal 1-nil up.

  38. Kroenkephobe

Playing some nice stuff. Good to see ESR bossing things.
