Matchweek 25 | Against Sunderland

Matchweek 25 | Against Sunderland

  1. We are going to Wembley in Carabao Cup
  2. Man City dropped points to one of the worst teams in Premier League i.e. Spurs
  3. Arteta has finally dropped Odegaard

These three things has certainly helped my mood after the un-imaginable loss to Manchester United at Home. We are back on track with 6 points lead to Pep, and are going to play Sunderland in few minutes.

Playing XI is out, and Odegaard is injured enough to not make it on the bench. I don’t care, frankly after his performance against United, or the lack of. Havertz replaces him in the midfield, Madueke is in place of injured Saka and Trossard starts ahead of Martinelli.

Gabriel Jesus leads the line.

Mikel gives you a hope. And then make sure you do not die of happiness. Nwaneri should have been replacing Odegaard but Mikel found a way to put Havertz in the team. I don’t mind Havertz, he is more attacking and has some goals in him compared to our captain and rarely loses a duel.

It’s very important to register a win today because if we do, we will have a chance to go 9 points ahead of the 2nd place. City is playing Liverpool tomorrow, and they will have some time at Anfield. It’s only 14 games left and things are getting serious elsewhere, a win today will move us closer to the title and hopefully Arne does us a favor later.

In the first leg, Sunderland did manage to hold us to a 2-2 draw, courtesy to a Brobbey goal in extra time. We can’t afford to be that lenient and drop any points. February and March has some easy games for us, and will probably define whether we go ahead and win the title.

Right, short one today, only about 5 minutes to go before the kick-off. See you during the game.

The decision to deny the late goal demonstrates the sheer lack of intelligence from our refs. Liverpool gained an advantage by committing a foul – if the score had been 1-3 they would drop behind Brentford on goal difference.

What if Liverpool gain a top 4 or European place on goal difference by 1 goal?

    Lol, Squeaky Vera

You seem to have the football iq of a 12 year old and clearly never playe. It makes sense now. Stick to your superbowl.

Do you want to make a comment without ‘shoehorn’ or extolling the tactical benefits of putting on ‘big boy pants’?

Come and tell us again how much you miss Granit Xhaka and how much better our midfield was with him pulling the strings.

    Soft lad.

  3. Aitcho

Surprised to see Nwaneri start v PSG, interested to see how he competes. So far, not shown much and been a bit careless.

Have to give credit to pep for coming out in the week and complaining about decisions going against City , it certainly worked as all the important decisions went city’s way today.
Almost all decisions regarding possible red cards and penalties are subjective, the city pen was probably right despite the ball being either out of play or almost out of play , meaning the attacker had zero chance of scoring,it was basically a schoolboy error from the Liverpool keeper
As for the possible red card for guehi’s shirt pull on Salah, by the laws of the game he should have seen red as he denied a goalscoring opportunity as there is no way Dias would have stopped salah getting his shot away, the 3 possible outcomes of the incident were
    1) salah gets his shot away and scores.
    2) salah gets his shot away and the keeper saves it
    3) salah gets his shot away and puts the ball wide .
So yes, well done pep for influencing the officials, there was also a penalty shout and possible red card in the first half when the little runt Bernado Silva pulled salah back in front of goal but although the commentator and var said he did hold salah but apparently the little runt didn’t hold onto him long enough.
Personally I reckon the officials bottled it as they knew they would have had to send the little runt off if a penalty had been awarded, similar in fact to the Newcastle/brentford game when Brentford should have been awarded a pen for a tug which would have resulted in a red card.
I suppose the city win keeps things interesting and may put an end to the stupid narrative that the league is already won…

Achoo—I always knew you were a piece of shit, but it’s clear now, based on your previous post, that you’re also as dumb as a fuckng stump…the fact that you can’t get it through your thick skull that I’ve never been a Xhaka supporter, in fact the exact opposite, speaks to either your abject obtuseness or your inability to mentally grasp even the simplest of concepts…maybe it’s a bit of both…regardless it’s fucking pathetic…it’s so pathetic that it’s getting exceedingly more difficult to take any pleasure from it as I feel you might be facing some sort of yet to be diagnosed mental issue and/or addiction challenges, which would easily explain away your obvious behavioural quirks…if this is the case, I sincerely apologize to you, your court-appointed handler and all the members of your support team, who I’m sure have suffered dearly as a result of your countless failed interactions with myself…if not, eat shit Dumbfuck

All the focus is on the red card incident in the last seconds which had no impact on the game.
This is just a ploy to avoid the real issues in the game , the city pen (given) , the guehi red card and the Liverpool pen (not given) and a probable red card for denying a goal scoring opportunity by bernardo silva in the first half(not given).
Personally I think there should have been 3 reds and 2 pens if the ref followed the rules for the 4 big calls , but he only decided to follow the rules on the 2 that favoured City .

Yes the Liverpool player should have been sent off in the last seconds .

Yes it was a city pen

Yes it was a red card for guehi

Yes it was a pen for Liverpool and red card for bernardo silva.

By the rules of the game this should have been the outcome but the rules of the game were not adhered to in 50% of the cases , imagine the outcry if the decisions had gone against city, but instead all everyone is talking about was an incident in the last seconds that had no impact on the game.

    Yo, squeaky Vera,

Weren’t you the halfwit who spent months fuming because we bought Trossard and not Mudryk?
So much squeaking, so much wrong. You ranted at me then for pointing out how daft you were.
While Mudryk serves yet another ban, for driving this time, to add to his bans from football and gaming platforms, we’re enjoying Trossard’s contributions on the pitch.
    Cheers squeaky.

Squeaky getting angry about stuff he made up. Again.

I really feel for Noni, especially if what I think will happen, actually happens…he’s a talented individual when he’s deployed on the right and allowed to lean into his most direct inklings, which likely won’t be the case here…with our shoehorning fuckwit of a manager he’ll almost assuredly be wrongly positioned on the left, which

  9. The Real Vieira Lynn

He’s playing on the right as a late-game sub or when Saka’s out injured you fucking cherry-picking clown…if you remember correctly, many felt that Tross was going to move on last summer and Noni was being brought in specifically to provide competition for Marts on the left side, which is where he got his minutes early on…btw I was right, as he was bang average on the left, even though that’s where MA wanted to SHOEHORN him in…so another shit-for-brains take by our resident fucktard Achoo

as for the whole Mudryk situation, I was never all-in on this player, I just didn’t like how we got gazumped by Chelsea in the 11th hour…I was just looking for us to get a more like-for-like left-sided forward, who would provide us with a similar amount of width and pace as Marts…not to mention, from an age profile standpoint, getting someone with a considerably longer runway made infinitely more sense…btw, and I know it might be a little too nuanced for you, if Chelsea hadn’t taken their shot MA would have signed this player, a player he had spent countless hours wooing, so if you think I was a twat for supposedly wanting him, what does that make your beloved MA…you’re such a fucking idiot

on a side note, maybe if you spent less time stalking me, which btw has been an epic failure on your part, you could help pry that tin foil cap off your sidekick’s head…stop ignoring Pricky’s obvious cries for help

“btw I was right, as he was bang average on the left”

Sorry mate but you’re wrong he isn’t close to even bang average on the left. He’s looked decent backup on the right but on the left he’s been poor.

Personally I find the idea of a backup player costing £50 odd million as being madness.

Your analysis of the ref’s decisions almost make it sound like you wanted City to drop points.

  12. Kroenkephobe

You could power a large Mediterranean island with all the vehement hatred being generated at Spurs tonight. Fucking magic! It’s given me almost as much pleasure as our results this season.

Whisper it, but with the hammers beating manure, the spuds are getting into relegation trouble. Spurs in the championship would be as good as a trophy. Oh fuck, have manure scored?

  13. Kroenkephobe

Ruled out. Come on you irons.

Haircut boy will be getting depressed…

  14. NORG

Frank gone, De Zerbi gone – perhaps both clubs will swap managers.

  15. The Real Vieira Lynn

so much for the whole Ethan developing under DeZerbi plan…let’s hope the new manager favours him as much as the last or things could get spicy come season’s end

🗣️ Pep Guardiola: “I don’t agree with the people saying the league is not good this season, or the winner will not be good. I don’t agree. It’s tougher, it’s really, really tough.
Look at Wolves, bottom, and I see them, how tough it is. Arsenal could not win, they beat Aston Villa – Unai [Emery] is one of my mirrors as a manager. I learned a lot watching them, incredibly well-prepared. It’s really, really tough.
Look at Nottingham Forest, individual player by player, ‘How are they struggling?!”

Couldn’t have said it better myself , and there are still some who actually believe that a league with 6 teams through to last 16 in the champions league is a weak league.
As pep says , “the league is really really tough” so it’s good to hear someone talking common sense after all the rubbish written and spoken the last few days after we beat Chelsea with 2 set piece goals, especially as our previous SEVENTEEN goals have been from open play..
It’s amazing the ignorance of the journalists and the pundits and some fans who are so desperate for Arsenal to fail that they have to promote fake narratives which will only make The Arsenal stronger as a group.
