Matchweek 23 | Against Man Utd

Matchweek 23 | Against Man Utd

You didn’t expect Wolves, who are sitting in 20th position, to do you a favor, did ya? Man City closed down the gap by 3 points today and it’s now in our hands to extend the lead back to 7 points by beating our legacy rivals. Man Utd are crap, lets be real. But they still sit at 5th position, ahead of Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs. They are only a point behind Liverpool and they know few wins could get them into the Champions League. They have something to play for, so do we – and we will find out tomorrow who wants it more.

Calafiori and Hincapie will be assessed before the game but it’s fine to say we will have a fully fit squad for the first time this season. Mikel will have everyone in front of him to pick for his playing XI, and our next game in a not important CL games against Kairat. So, yeah – lets go for everything.

If I have to pick, I will do the usuals. Raya in goal, with Timber, Saliba, Gabriel and Calafiori in defence. A midfield of Odegaard, Zubimendi and Rice will do where Rice plays in a more advance role. I would pick Saka, Gyokeres and Martinelli as front 3, but won’t mind Trossard if Mikel finds him more contributing to our game.

16 games left. 7 points lead (4 but then City has played one extra game). A Premier League trophy we have been dreaming of since THE INVINCIBLES. That was in 2003-04, about 23 years ago. There are some Arsenal fans who can vote, marry and have a kid but haven’t seen us lift the trophy.

And then, we have a billion dollar squads, most of which have finished 2nd three seasons in a row. Most of them had the heart breaks, some of them were exhausted, some would have punched a wall. Some of them are on big fat wages, some renewed, some joined from other clubs to be a part of red and white in the hope of winning something. NOW IS THE TIME. Mikel and the team does all the talk, but we need to walk the walk.

I know there is still a long way to go, 16 weeks of Premier League football and we would see a lot of ups and downs, but I am not wrong to say it’s ours to lose now. Man Utd, under Carrick, will try their best to stop us. Can we sustain the pressure? Can we keep our winning run?

We will find out. See you in the comments.

Shush – nobody tell El B – Raheem Sterling is a free agent.

    Norg

Don’t even say it in jest.

  3. Marc

Arteta massively rotating – he really does go from one extreme to the other.

this is like shooting fish in a barrel…how we don’t have 5 or 6 by now belies logic…this is why MA was so ballsy the other day

  5. Marc

Isn’t it strange that all the voices who said Maccabi Haifa shouldn’t even be playing in the CL haven’t uttered a word about Kairat.

Its almost as if there’s a different agenda.

  6. Wicksy

Don’t get KP started Marc , you know he can’t resist spouting his anti semitic and racist nonsense

we now know that we’ll face one the following four sides in the round of 16, Dortmund, Atalanta, Lever or Olympiacos…should be a cakewalk after we dominated the 36th seed Kairat 3-2 on our home pitch…sarcasm aside, we did have our way for most of that match, but unless we find a way to finish at a significantly higher rate we shouldn’t be counting our chickens…I favour our chances against all of the aforementioned sides, by quite some margin, but I do worry what might happen if our set piece/own goal-dependent ways run dry…in a two-legged affair it’s far more likely that whomever we face will deploy a low block in at least one of those two matches, which could make the margins even thinner

Cunts, Each vying to be a bigger cunt than the other one. A conference of two right wing home counties cunts in a racist race to the bottom of modern English cuntery.

It’s too close to call between these monumentally stupid cunts. One an expert in counting lollipop sticks, the other an expert in fuck all save for sticking his new boyfriend’s lollipop sticks in his fundament to check for sphincter splinters.

Please continue your cuntish Grand Prix (pronounced ‘pricks’ by stupid xenophobic Ingerlish cunts) so we can all see who emerges from the slime as the idiot king of cowardly cunts.

Personally, I’m enjoying watching your minds and your dignity unravel. You should get a room and start fucking each other under a signed poster of war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu. 🍆🇮🇱💩

    Cunts.

Almost as if someone is triggered by a comment that wasn’t even directed at them.

You’re far too stupid for this. Valentine’s day is coming up – try working on your blossoming relationship with the other berk.

  11. Wicksy

I reeled you in nicely there KP , there’s only one person’s ” mind and dignity”
    unravelling ….

Have to say I really enjoyed Eze’s performance last night , he was his usual relaxed self on the ball with some beautiful sublime touches and deceptive passing .
6 key passes last night which is probably as many as odegaard has managed in the last 10 games, what will it take for Arteta to recognise the talent he has at his disposal, it’s not all about running around chasing shadows (without making a tackle) like Odegaard, if Arteta wants us to break down defences Eze is the man , he could quite easily play him deeper in a quarter back type role and hit those inch perfect passes behind the opposition back 4 for our forwards to run on to, there is no one who comes remotely close to Eze when it comes to passing between the lines and playing the killer ball…it’s over to you Arteta, don’t waste his talent.

Luckily we didnt have to play Kairat away. A fair few flying hours involved – I think it is probably their winter break at the moment.

    Thicksy

You’re a very limited banter exponent. Thick as mince; about as funny as an embolism; and you’re a right wing smug English bigot. Deeply unattractive in ever sense. Your football related opinions are clichéd cant. No one likes your shit, let alone reads it, and it’s evident that you’re a sad misanthrope. You couldn’t wind up a clock you dozy cunt.

You’ve discovered LiR but you’re woefully out of your depth. You let me repeatedly call you a cunt and numerous other suitable epithets with no come back. You’ve got nothing and frankly you’re an embarrassment.

I’m obviously living in your head which is a struggle for you. So are others as you struggle to convince people of your poorly constructed opinions. You hate the fact that people ignore your piss poor oeuvre – I stopped reading any of your jaundiced output ages ago.

Sad, charmless and friendless Pricksy (© someone else who also always skewers you on here) whose only ally is a political bedfellow. It’s nauseating to see you figuratively blowing each other and a sad manifestation of your alienation.

Keep it coming if you must, but if you want to make an impact on here, up your game and improve. Everyone knows you’re irredeemably full of shit.

KP—that might have been the most surgical character assassination these eyes have ever seen…I’m actually fucking jealous of the way in which you conduct your shit…I tip my cap to you and just hope that I’m never on the receiving end…fuck me that was great!!

  16. Kroenkephobe

    Hi Vieira

    You’re safe…for now! 😂

Cheers mate. When idiots are persistently gaslighting others hopefully into thinking they’re the problem, a reality check often helps. I’ve always enjoyed the creative side of writing and the odd opportunity to use florrid language around miscreants and political extremists which, when justified, should never be spurned. All that reading had to pay off somehow.

The pen is mightier….etc etc. It’ll doubtless continue, but the quality needs to improve substantially otherwise we’ll all be as bored as rats.

    KP
“I’m obviously living in your head”

I’ve reeled you in again KP , as for responding to your abuse , not for me
    thanks.
My advice to you would be to chill out a little as your extreme political views are messing with your head..

  18. Kroenkephobe

You call that upping your game Thicksy? Really?

  19. NORG

    KP
Sort of away from politics but in the news – when you were posted to various global locations did you ever end up in China?

  20. Kroenkephobe

    Hi NORG

No, I didn’t. I knew people who were there during Tiananmen and said it was tough (almost as tough as it’s been on here the past few days…)

My take on Starmer costing up to Xi is that he may as well given he has little or no self respect. There’s a bit of geopolitical balance given that he’s doing the same with the orange animal.

Are you thinking of dipping your toe into China? My trade/economic experience was strictly in Latin America.
