We are playing Nottingham Forest today at home. There are 2 very motivational reasons for the team to win this – first, because we lost to Liverpool and we need to get back to winning games; second – they have got an ex-spud as their new manager. It’s still too early to go through the table but we are sitting only behind Pool and Chelsea, both of them remain unbeaten so far. Things are going to get much tougher as the season progresses – with injuries (we already have 2 of our first XI unavailable), fatigue, playing twice a week, winter and Havertz coming back from injury.
We need to make sure we win the most of what’s in front and Forest looks to be there for the taking. Nuno was a tough nut, he would set up his team for counters and frustrate you through out your 90 min. With Ange and his philosophy that ended him with Spurs at 17th last season, we should win this pretty comfortably.
Team sheet is out and it looks like Mikel Arteta has gone mental and in a good way. He finally starts a team with just one DM. A strange but a brave move and it should be the way forward. That midfield should only one of the Rice or Zubimendi at any point of time and there should be 2 attacking midfielders feeding Gyokeres. If you have a defence of Saliba (when he is back) and Gabriel with Timber and Calafiori on either side, you need to be more aggressive.
Mosquera starts in the defence as Saliba hasn’t recovered from his injury from the Liverpool game. Odegaard is fit so he is back in the team and Merino forces Mikel to drop Declan Rice for the game.
Eze picks up his first start in Arsenal color. Martinelli sits on bench for the game, Rice too while Saka will not be available for some more time.

I am liking this set up. We look more attacking and Gyokeres will get more balls hopefully to convert. There is no point playing a poacher up top but no one behind him to feed the ball. Timber and Calafiori will do the overlapping to provide more space to Eze and Madueke and I am kinda surprised Mikel decided to go all attacking finally.
Cheers to David Raya for his 100th game in red and white. It was only yesterday that we were enjoying Ramsdale’s shenanigans but were frustrated with his mistakes. We improved on him, Raya has very little errors in him and he always look solid.
Mosquera gets his first Arsenal start. He is only 21 years old and you would think that in Saliba’s absence, White would be the first in the list but it’s not so. The kid managed to keep the veteran on the bench.
Right, that’s all of today. Sorry for being absent these days, busy schedule and some family time overall kept me away. See you during the game.

I’m amazed Potters still in a job and Forest have seriously fucked up.
I wouldn’t want to bet who’ll be next to go.
Rumour is that Nuno is being lined up for the Hammers.
this should be a cakewalk affair, especially if we fashion ourselves serious contenders…MA suggested that last season’s “heartbreak” would help us in our CL quest…shit, if that was the case why haven’t we won the PL yet…just how much heartbreak do we need to fucking endure before it converts into winning…you would think that he would hang his hat on the fact that we spent another 200+M, especially considering that some 4 months ago he boasted that we were the best in Europe by some margin…regardless, he’s such a fucking genius I bet that this whole “lose to win” gig was all part of his 34 phase plan…I get the sense that his bedroom has a massive rolling stone for a door. ✝️

Would not surprise me at all.
Of course you just know in 12 months the West Ham fans will be bitching about the quality of football.
looks like we’re going to Sociedad them to death…wake me up when we grow a pair
Eze can’t wait for the ball in the box, that should have been 1-0 or at the least a penalty…VG was savvy to stay on side, but went too wide on his approach and no one kills a numbers advantage in the final third than a midfield trio of Rice, Zubi and Merino…not one of them is known for unlocking the opposition…looks like we’re on the set piece train once again
nasty cut to VG…merely a flesh wound reference was duly used by the commentating team
Madueke trying his best to make ut exciting a bit ..
Mosquera looks a very good defender.
it doesn’t mean we can’t manufacture victories as we’re presently constructed, but talk about a team that makes no sense from back to front…if anyone in ownership knew jacksquat about this sport they would fire MA for the manner in which he deploys a side that was so fucking expensive…this could have been easily achieved for a fraction of the price, just look at the side we’re playing today (380M to 1.33B)…if this was the plan coming in why not start Marts and Tross to go through the motions then brought in Eze, Ethan and Noni in the 60th
KP—agreed, plus I think he’s our best CB with the ball at his feet, so why not let him make the odd vertical pass
MA’s going to turn VG into fucking Chamakh
Mosquera has not let us miss the world’s best CB
Ambarish—the very fact that we provide him with no overlapping help makes no sense, especially on the right…he needs to be crafting goalscoring opportunities tucked inside on his better foot, not being a cross junkie like when he’s on the left…square pegs in round holes, as per usual with our little fucktard MIT
That midfield of Rice, Zubimendi, Merino can never do the transition from back to front. Bring in Martinelli for Rice or Zubi, put Eze back in his favorite place, replace Merino with Nwaneri and go all guns blazing.
A draw is 2 points lost for a team that wants to win big things.
Come on Marts.. time to shine… What a goal.
like I said before, we look like a more polished version of Sociedad, which is all about putting the opposition to sleep (along with the fanbase)…what the fuck have they ever done to deserve such mimicry
thank goodness for Marts’ ability to control that second touch…certainly not part of any MA plan
Just like that goal against Chelsea a few years ago. Ya beauty. Marti-tastic
Fucking Alpha Tross. Overall really strong second half
that close range deflected shot by Tross should put this paint drying exhibition to bed
we should be a little savvier about taking so many unnecessary second-half yellows, both Noni and Zubi have needlessly earned one in the last 5
