Matchday 4 – Rice benched!

Matchday 4 – Rice benched!

We are playing Nottingham Forest today at home. There are 2 very motivational reasons for the team to win this – first, because we lost to Liverpool and we need to get back to winning games; second – they have got an ex-spud as their new manager. It’s still too early to go through the table but we are sitting only behind Pool and Chelsea, both of them remain unbeaten so far. Things are going to get much tougher as the season progresses – with injuries (we already have 2 of our first XI unavailable), fatigue, playing twice a week, winter and Havertz coming back from injury.

We need to make sure we win the most of what’s in front and Forest looks to be there for the taking. Nuno was a tough nut, he would set up his team for counters and frustrate you through out your 90 min. With Ange and his philosophy that ended him with Spurs at 17th last season, we should win this pretty comfortably.

Team sheet is out and it looks like Mikel Arteta has gone mental and in a good way. He finally starts a team with just one DM. A strange but a brave move and it should be the way forward. That midfield should only one of the Rice or Zubimendi at any point of time and there should be 2 attacking midfielders feeding Gyokeres. If you have a defence of Saliba (when he is back) and Gabriel with Timber and Calafiori on either side, you need to be more aggressive.

Mosquera starts in the defence as Saliba hasn’t recovered from his injury from the Liverpool game. Odegaard is fit so he is back in the team and Merino forces Mikel to drop Declan Rice for the game.

Eze picks up his first start in Arsenal color. Martinelli sits on bench for the game, Rice too while Saka will not be available for some more time.

I am liking this set up. We look more attacking and Gyokeres will get more balls hopefully to convert. There is no point playing a poacher up top but no one behind him to feed the ball. Timber and Calafiori will do the overlapping to provide more space to Eze and Madueke and I am kinda surprised Mikel decided to go all attacking finally.

Cheers to David Raya for his 100th game in red and white. It was only yesterday that we were enjoying Ramsdale’s shenanigans but were frustrated with his mistakes. We improved on him, Raya has very little errors in him and he always look solid.

Mosquera gets his first Arsenal start. He is only 21 years old and you would think that in Saliba’s absence, White would be the first in the list but it’s not so. The kid managed to keep the veteran on the bench.

Right, that’s all of today. Sorry for being absent these days, busy schedule and some family time overall kept me away. See you during the game.

“The bonus with Odegaard missing is Ethan gets to play and prove he is the better player. ”

100%…is it just a coincidence that in the 2 games that odegaard went off injured early in the game we have scored 8 goals v Leeds and forest
It was a very mature performance from Nwaneri , the more game time he gets the better as his potential is enormous.
My argument with the injuries is that we are now only a couple of injuries away from a potential problem as it wouldn’t surprise me if Odegaard needs an op on the shoulder , but yes the injuries to saka , havert and Odegaard could prove to be a blessing in disguise as they have allowed Madueke, gyokeres and Nwaneri to establish themselves.

    Ambarish

    Your house, your rules.

Soppy bollocks still won’t answer that question though.

And he is an out ant out slag , until he does

    a very straightforward question.

How many times has this moronic cunt won at Anfield or Manchester City in his 6 seasons ?

My main takes on the performance – it was a good result but we still look sluggish. The second goal was great for VG and about the only supply we gave him all day, we need to adapt to having a proper striker.

As always with Captain fuckwit in charge there are serious negatives even in a good result.

    1) Why are we still playing this fucking inverted full back bollocks? We have an expensive shiny new player on the left wing who is not as productive as the right sided player. Its not the players on the left its the lack of support they get.

    2) What the fuck are we doing taking off a striker and replacing him with a CM on 70 odd minutes? The only serious chance Forest had all match was of our own making by fucking up at the back. Why not stick Martinelli on? You’re 1 nil up away at Liverpool or Man City and go defensive for the last 15 minutes – no problem but Forest at home who have a useless fat Aussie Bastard in charge.

It’s to negative and we see it far too often.

I’m fucking loving LiR at the moment.

Wicksy taking it on the chin like a man dem ting – implacable and resolute in equal measures; Vieira at his lucent and vitriolic apex, full of beautifully florid imagery; Marc unswerving from the realities of life under Arteta never reluctant to set the record straight, and Ambarish the elegant and erudite suave Indian diplomat expertly keeping it all together.

Oh, and the team did pretty well yesterday.

Blog tastic. Great to be top – we probably won’t be there tonight but I think there’ll be several good moments this season. I caught the highlights after travelling to north Wales yesterday for a 3-0 defeat. Something about seeing Eze in an Arsenal jersey is irresistible.

  5. Great posts guys. And KP was the the piece de resistance. So many gems build up LiR . Of course there is always the black sheep in every family .The thing is to keep the gems safe ..😷..no matter the resident of the sty.
In Goa most houses have a resident pig inside an enclosure at the back. Has his uses as it helps dispose the kitchen waste so the surroundings stay clean. Just mentioning.
    Cheers

In defence of Arteta the game was as good as won and we have 2 tough games this week and as I may have mentioned before we do have a number of injuries, so to replace gyokeres, Madueke and Eze was, I’m sure you’ll agree , sensible and good management.

“In Goa most houses have a resident pig inside an enclosure at the back.”

And how are you settling in there ?

  8. Kroenkephobe

Nice one Hoopah. I’d have a resident 🐷 instead of an electrical waste disposal unit any time. I’d call him Harry Kane. I hope you’re well mate.

Ref just needlessly sent off a Burnley player. The trap us set for a late Liverpool winner. Terrible decision as a second red.

  10. Kroenkephobe

And there’s the pen, right on cue. Burnley’s ten players couldn’t cope with Liverpool’s 12.

Hoopah—as per usual, love what you did there!! much like a squealing little pig, our little blunt instrument has shate all over the house then blamed everyone for the mess he’s made…does that remind you of anyone? I’ll give you a clue, he’s a so-called manager who couldn’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag…Cheers

KP—agree with the notion that it might have been a harsh second yellow, albeit it was from behind, but when you adopt Arteta-like “try not ot lose” schematics against the top sides, you shouldn’t be surprised when calls don’t go your way…Burnley has played well, even though their point.total might suggest otherwise, so why not take a few more chances at home, especially with no Isak and Pool being rather lethargic for the first 60+ minutes…it’s not as if Pool’s backline hasn’t been vulnerable thus far…all that said, I get the whole “front-runner” narrative, as it’s too reminiscent of several United campaigns under Fergie, where red cards and late-game penalties were all the rage…have a good one

  12. The Real Vieira Lynn

AF—I tried to bring some perspective to the equation, but I’m of the belief that Ambarish is more of an AKBer than an Arteta Out kind of supporter, which is totally his perogative, so he sees more of himself in a clown like Pricksy than you or I…I’ve encountered this on almost every online club-related blog and typically it doesn’t end well for me…Bob, Aitcho and now Pricksy are well-versed in the ways in which one can “cancel” those who they would refer to as the loudest voices in the room…by keeping it relatively clean these “woe is me” fucks can stir the pot seemingly without consequence, as more often than not the blogger-in-charge will side with the supposed “good guy”…for the more.nuanced amongst us, we’re well-aware that the world is chock-full of these wolf in sheep clothing fucks and oft-times they’re far more problematic than those of us who leave it all out there…don’t ever stop calling a cunt a cunt…Cheers

The scrote has all the gob in the world.

But yet refuses to answer a simple question.

His fucking contant dirges make Chat GPT seem exciting

He is the worst type of supporter.

Devoid of any pulse or passion but always narky.

Bit like shit on your shoe, its a bastard to get rid.

But I must abide by Ambarish house rules, so I wont call him a slag cunt again

  14. Marc

So what do ManU do sack another manager?

Their next match is Chelsea which won’t be easy. Ultimately there’s a deep malaise at ManU that just sacking the manager won’t cure.

Unless of course they hire Captain Fuckwit who apparently is some kind of managerial genius.

I think Amorim, Potter and the Wolves guy are all perched on a massive bubble. That mad Greek twat might also be hugely disappointed with Ange P after giving him all of 96 hours in the job.

And we still can’t get rid of ours …

  16. Kroenkephobe

Arteta to Manure…there’s a rumour I can enthusiastically support.

Looking like a three horse race for the league.

    Liverpool have Isak and Slot.

Manchester City now have the goalkeeper. He could break Joe Corrigans record on today’s display and he is still only a baby.

We have about 40 players , but are still managed by an egotistical moronic cunt.

  18. The Real Vieira Lynn

If the body language of the owner was any indication, Amorim’s days could be numbered…his brand of managing likely won’t work at a flailing storied franchise like United…there’s no way that a new owner would have the appetite to clean house and let a young, relatively unknown manager to come in and reset the organization, so it’s a retooling nightmare…I do think they have a few pieces to build around but they have a shitload of albatross contracts/players they need to get rid of before they can become a serious contender again

  19. NORG

KP – I have just got the prayer mat out of the bottom drawer.

  20. Kroenkephobe

Frankly NORG, you won’t be surprised to know I’d be delighted to see it. Imagine all the fan boys and their world completely caving in on them having to acknowledge his disloyalty? And then the absolute joy of watching him join the list of post Ferguson failures? I’m getting ahead of myself but it would be terrific.
