Jesus’ worries, Martinelli shines, much love to Ben White

Jesus’ worries, Martinelli shines, much love to Ben White

Before anything, let us send some love to Ben White, who had to leave England World Cup squad for personal reasons.

There is some good and bad news coming from Brazilian side of the World Cup football. Martinelli showed his worth against Cameroon and had a very good game at the left coming close to scoring twice, saved eventually. He is such a threat to the defenders, I always get a CR7 vibes in him; he is probably one of the worst players to play against for any defender. Saying this when he is playing on the grandest stage of football means something.

Coming to the bad news, Gabriel Jesus picked an injury and will probably be out till January. That means he is going to miss some games for us, when we are fighting for the league. Time for Eddie Nketiah to show up, but this might tempt Edu and Arteta to go for a CF in the January window. We needed that fund for the midfield where we need a proper competition for Thomas Partey. I would personally prefer strengthening midfield and waiting for Jesus while Eddie fills up the spot. I have always wanted to see Martinelli in the CF role but I guess we will never know.

In other news, World Cup is getting exciting now. Germany, Mexico, Belgium, Uruguay are out. Such a shame with Belgium, even with so much talents they can’t get through the group stage. Same with Germany, I guess they need a reboot like Arsenal.

Good to see Japan qualifying for round of 16, kudos to Tomiyasu. England is doing great, finishing top of the group with some brilliant games. USA qualified too which will keep Turner busy.

Right, short one today. Apologies for missing for last two weeks, been busy a bit in my own marriage lol. I will take another week off, need some sun somewhere on the beach.

Hope you are doing well, have a good evening!

That thing about White is a little sad, although footballers who don’t like their metier aren’t that rare. If he can stick to the task, ie playing football for Arsenal in spite of all the bollocks in the game, I hope he’ll be fine. I always sensed that Ozil had the same issue when he joined Arsenal. Its pretty commonplace in other professions too – the person who reaches his mid 30s and still enjoys their job is a rare commodity. I can’t imagine the people in Southgate’s backroom team being sensitive to that necessarily. In essence, the fewer players we have getting involved in their NTs the better if it means they’re fresher when turning out for us.

If you’ve not seen them Tony, check out the goals from that Lyon game. They’ll all bring a smile.

Oh, and that first album, rattus norvegicus, and the lyric

    I’m making love to

Have you ever been to Liverpool?

  3. Hi K’Phobe
You’d be surprised what your ears are capable of if you haven’t done them physical damage or born with an affliction.

Wisdom are indescribable. Their MD told me their customer base is 80% are billionaires and the remaining 20% are at least millionaires because of the cost of the systems and for those who build reference rooms for their systems. I’ve spent 4 years researching room dynamics within modern sound proofing sound profiles and somehow got it to with a few % of being the perfect sound of silence. Meaning the room treatment hasn’t deadened the sound absorption. That’s layman’s terms.

My room is 3 rooms inside each other with the inner room floating on rubber and wood mounts. The inner floating room is covered in treatment material stretched over empty wood frames making the frequency containment perfect for sound separation.

My friend I calibrated with is one of the world’s top guys said this the next day after the 3-day calibration:

“I’m still buzzing about how good your room sounds and how much I enjoyed the music concerts, I hear a lot of great systems (it goes with the job!) but your room blew me away. Its able to authentically portray that live sound experience, and leaves you with the buzz you get when you go to a live gig. I know you will have so much fun listening to this system 😊. ”

The room is that good the MD is going to come over next year for a listen.

Wisdom is Elite Reference sound. To put that into perspective I have 14 Meyer actives (12 HMS-5s and 2 Amie subs) all considered elite and what Ed Sheren uses at home and for tours.

Wisdom audio is different: their sound is the next level and seriously deserve the best acoustics to sing at their best. That said paired with Trinnov in a less than perfect sound environment and the sound will still be the best you have ever heard.

Put Trinnov and Wisdom in a perfect sound room and then the sound leaves you breathless whether it being a movie or music.

Wisdom’s MD was Steely Dan’s sound engineer and possibly the world’s best calibrator. We have a lot in common.

I can’t say anything more, K’phobe. It’s my bucket list from my youth and sound engineering years. My ears were equal to my friends much to my surprise, so I can’t wait to see what Wisdom’s MD adds to the sound mix next year.

I’m 67 and aging fast so my room is my retirement present where it adds great value to the property for our kids. It cost £250,000+ but that’s what elite reference rooms cost to build from the ground up as an extension to our property. In the UK add another £100k for the building costs and VAT.

There is a cost for such luxury and that is the toll on one’s health who works all the hours investing in myself over and over and backing myself with decision making throughout my working life. 3 heart attacks, bypass surgery and now 5 stents coupled with colon disease in remission is the price I paid. Working without holidays and working abroad when few Brits did late 70s. We were expat trail blazers in those days now the world is small as a pea.

My wife runs the company now where I only consult when asked, which isn’t often. She a respected rain maker a rarity for Thai women in business. She’ll hit over 20m Euros this year from the covid rebound and hopefully improve from there.

It depends on what your budget is more than anything, K’phobe. Start with the top systems for demos to see how good your ears are. Go to a Wisdom demo in Spain. I’ll find out the nearest from the MD. Start there and work down. Think Trinnov for your processor with Wisdom speakers and electrics and you’ll be happy for life.

I’m an old desk jockey from the mid 70s onwards so you don’t have to go to the lengths I have. Wisdom L75 Point source and an STS and SP-3 amp should be in your affordability at your stage in life, which I mean with respect, K’Phobe. Some carpet or wood floor and it won’t matter about the ceiling with Point Source. Some nice sound panels on the walls and you’re all set for a basic studio class sound.

I could write for hours so better stop here. https://www.wisdomaudio.com Have a look at their website and do some due diligence over the next few years, it’ll be worth the effort.

Looking forward to tonight’s 2 games although The Nederlands v Messi I’ll have to watch the highlights.

Have a good weekend. You know where I’ll be 🙂

Ambarish, Wisdom are bought by the wealthy in India. My friend is always there doing calibrations.

People are rooting for Portugal over here for historical reasons .
Games have been at bit odd hours for us and unfortunately there don’t seem to be replays available as of now.
    Tony
Instead of getting tied into knots over tuning up , am using a Samsung 5.1 sound bar which calibrates as per room acoustics. There was a higher end model available but what I have is adequate for my needs and is pronto.

  5. Hoopah

    And Tony

Your system appears placed into the stratosphere of things 👍🏽

  6. Hoopah
Also, Sonos is good, we use in the family room. Sonos Arc and Sonos Move in the room makes for a great warm sound. You can place the Move in different places for different sound dynamics. Samsung is good. All the calibration does is layer filters over filters until the room sounds good. The downside is it’s compressing the sound when you really want Native or Pure.

  7. Hoopah.

    Tony
Absolutely spot on. Yeah about Sonos

  8. Hoopah.

By the way, way Brasil players are loitering around is dangerous territory. Croatia team are positioning better and are easily nipping everything Brasil do. If Brasil concede they lose.
    Need Martinelli to raise Cain

  9. Hoopah.

Alex Telles because there is no functional midfield for Brasil?
Croats are taller and more physical, so compulsive aereal balls are all getting headed off by croats

  10. Hoopah.

    MNeymar magic 1-0

  11. Marc

We can’t see Brazil go out can we?

Who knows I was predicting a France Brazil final.

  12. Hoopah.

Brasil is out on penalty shootout

  13. Hoopah.

Brasil as been saying has been lackadaisical.. Poor ball retrieval.

  14. Ambarish K

I’m with my better half sobbing here 🙁

  15. Kroenkephobe

Don’t worry lads. These games are like schadenfreude eliminators. Feel bad for Martinelli but the rest of them can go and fuck themselves. Especially Anthony who may as well have a tattoo on his forehead saying ‘bastard’ and that whopping cunt Neymar who declared himself a supporter of Jair Bolsonaro, the racist, pandemic denier who enabled his logging mates to destroy half the Brazilian rainforest. A man of colour supporting a racist president takes some beating. So fuck them! That dancing routine bullshit in the last round which seriously disrespected their opponents looks deeply stupid now.

  16. Kroenkephobe

Penalty shoot outs are massive fun aren’t they? I reckon you can tell whether someone is going to score in many cases by their demeanour and look on their faces which seldom beltray their level of nervousness. If you’re evidently shitting yourself before taking a pen, I reckon there’s a strong likelihood it’s gone to your legs and weakened you.

My claim to fame was scoring the winning 5th penalty in a shoot out between our visiting team from Nigeria playing our works based opposite numbers in this massive fucking military stadium in Accra. I passed it firmly into the corner knowing that the 5ft 8 goalie wouldn’t get anywhere near it.

  17. Kroenkephobe

    Hi Ambarish
Great to hear that your wife is into football. My other half hates it unless the Welsh NT is playing.

Important question – is she also a Gooner or do you have plans to brainwash her?

  18. Killroy-TM

Those Brazilian fuckers are out, for me the WC has already been a success, they will stay at 5. Germany or Italy to rebuild and match them in 2026. Neymar is a super cunt and Schadenfreude at its best with the Samba boys getting it up their Kazoo.

Antony looks like a showboating infantile wanker. Should have received a yellow for diving and I am glad we didn’t get near that wanker.

Good thing Gaby coming home uninjured, and the only thing left Saka coming home on Sunday hopefully also uninjured and we are back in business for the EPL if we sign a top attacking talent withing the first few games.

  19. Great results last night. Good game’s, too.

On balance the results were merited even if penalties were the eventual deciders. Messi’s mob and robotic Croats edged it during play so deserved their semi places.

  20. Hoopah.

Portugal players are Overhitting passes. Morocco is playing a very disciplied JdeP so innacurate passes are intercepted. Surprising because quality of all Portugal players is high. Of course yPortugal coach is back Southgate clone slow in the uptake

  21. Hoopah.

Portugal is down 1-0 at half time.

  22. Ambarish K

Is this the end of hope of Messi v Ronaldo final?

  23. Hoopah.

Dalot is waste of space. Playing at his ManU level so Morocco giving ample rope on right side because Dalot is incapable of doing any harm.
This glaring deficiency is allowed to fester by Portugal manager

  24. Hoopah.

If Zyecth goes out injured, likely end of any more goals by Morocco. Portugal now should step up.
Goalkeeper Bono is superb shot stopper. Penalties is suicidal

  25. Ambarish K

This Jao Felix was probably the best chance. What a save!!

  26. Hoopah.

From the refereeing it appears there isva heavy backing by some syndicate or whatever to get Morocco to win

  27. Ambarish K

    That wasn’t a card.

  28. Ambarish K

Fuck me what an unexpected result. Sad to see the last of CR7 on world stage.

Pepe was close, only by inches man

  29. Hoopah.

    Ambarish
Ronaldo is a passenger brought in for a world record. Man is now a shadow. if his old self. Was a mistake to come to EPL. He list his edge. Pepe at 39 years jumps higher than CR7
