London is red

Happy new year 2025 – lets start with a bang

Ladies and Gentlemen, we took another trip around the Sun and celebrated like it’s the last one. But it’s not, and we have to get back to business in our personal, professional and football world. I will let you deal with the first two, but lets talk about football. We are playing Brentford today on their ground. It’s going to be a tough one because Brentford had a great home run in 2024, they are very well coached for set pieces and we have an injury to our best player.

It shouldn’t deter us though, we saw what happened with Chelsea after a great run and there’s a very good chance that Liverpool will have a bad phase sometime soon. We need to remain closer to them to take advantage of the situation and we need to win today for that.

Team news

Bukayo Saka is out injured for a long time. Sterling is suffering from a knee injury. Ben White and Tomiyasu have not recovered from their injuries as well. But there’s a surprize today in the lineup which we have been asking since long.

Here’s the line up to play –

Nwaneri starts at right wing. Timber and Calafiori are back in the defence so MLS has to sit this one out on bench. Declan Rice gets some rest for Merino with Thomas Partey anchoring that midfield, while Nwaneri and Martinelli starts on the wings and Jesus plays in the centre. There’s no Havertz today, not sure about the reason but I don’t have anything to complain.

We certainly are going to miss Bukayo but lets see what Ethan offers in his first ever Premier League start. I would have loved to see him play in midfield but if he benefits from Saka’s absence, he will have a big claim for that midfield position once starboy is back.

Right, I will keep it short today. Hope you had a blast and lets see out the first day of the year on the positive note with a massive WIN. Liverpool are not backing down and are probably in a place where they will go ahead and win this, but there’s always a chance and a win today will make sure we remain in the mix.

See you during the game.

That should be a red for the ManU player.

that’s one of the weakest penalties I’ve seen in some time…Havertz is an embarassment of riches…that said, the United defenders should know better, as that gangly fuck has been throwing himself to ground for years

  3. Hoopah.

    Havertz kicked Maguire and dived
No doubt. They don’t have VAR ?

  4. The Real Vieira Lynn

that speaks volumes about our lack of finishing prowess when Ode is our penalty taker

No it doesn’t come in till Round 5 at least that what someone said on the TV earlier – probably because its not available at some grounds.

  6. The Real Vieira Lynn

Havertz should have been required to take that penalty after flopping…I’m sure the result would have been the same though

Marc—I think they let it go because of the weak-ass nature of the penalty that was given

  7. Ode just can’t score, so crazy for such a talented player

Tony—it’s not like it wasn’t well-placed, it was just too timid of a shot, which is Ode’s problem, as he can’t chew gum and walk at the same time

  9. Marc

OK their keeper has gone from not being able to kick the ball to pulling off great saves.

  10. Hoopah.

Goalkeeper change by Amorin was a masterstroke.
    Another save off Rice header

“Marc—I think they let it go because of the weak-ass nature of the penalty that was given” difficult to argue thats not a bit of poetic justice.

  12. Ode just can’t score, so crazy for such a talented player

Just think if we had a clinical 9

  13. The Real Vieira Lynn

of course it was a decent reaction save, but he should have never been given a chance to do so…that’s why you don’t rely on the likes of Havertz and Rice in the final third or have Ode as your penalty taker…none of these players have a clinical finishing bone in their respective bodies

  14. Hoopah.

Amorim trying his wild cards trick with 3 changes including Zirkee

  15. Marc

We really don’t need extra time between our injuries and the Spuddies and Villa coming up.

  16. The Real Vieira Lynn

a clinical side would have put up a 6 or 7 spot on this particular United side…especially after the red card

  17. The Real Vieira Lynn

oh, I just realized that Sterling’s playing today…

  18. The Real Vieira Lynn

I still think we’ll win this one, but it might require a little luck, maybe a deflection

  19. Marc

Some cunt will start singing that “sixt million down the drain” song in a minute.

  20. Hoopah.

Don’t feel bad about Havertz miss. It was a handball first. Know karma et al

  21. The Real Vieira Lynn

Havertz is writing his own epitaph…could he be any shittier?? even Eddie might have potted that one

  22. Marc

For the rest of the season we might as well try out Martinelli through the middle with Trossard and Sterling on the wings with Nwaneri adding depth once he’s back if we’re not going to buy a striker in Jan.

  23. Last thing we need is extra time. Surely Ode needs to rest for the Spuds game.

  24. Hoopah.

Raya caught the ball outside the D ?

  25. The Real Vieira Lynn

Marc—you really want Sterling manning the wings after what you witnessed so far this term??? I would rather place Merino up top, with Tross and Marts on the wings, then have Ethan play along side Ode, once he’s back to full health

  26. The Real Vieira Lynn

    you’ve witnessed

  27. The Real Vieira Lynn

we all know neither will happen because MA won’t bench Havertz and he will still want Rice in the final thrid too often
