Well, we were on a happy run before a sh*t Everton decided to bring in Sean Dyche, who made them play like they have never played before, this season. We not only lost 3 important points in the title run, but also went into a bad run of games where we dropped points against Brentford and lost to City. Martinelli started dropping stinkers, can you believe it? So yeah, it’s time for the payback. Everton tried to derail our title run, lets make sure they remain in the relegation battle after today’s game.
Lets talk about Arsenal. Aston Villa was a thrilling encounter which kept us off our feet for the complete game. Going behind twice and then winning 4-2 against Emery’s side was sweet. Against Leicester, it was a boring 1-0 where we made sure we have the control of the game and the score line do not do justice. I am more of a ‘get me a boring 1-0 win’ than a thrilling encounter which can go either way. We need to control the game, we need to cut down the errors and our CF needs to bury the chances they get. We did the first two against Leicester, we didn’t bury the chances we should have though.
There are some positives, Partey is back in the mix, ESR is making to the bench, Trossard looks really mature and Martinelli scored in back to back games now. There are talks of Saka agreeing to a deal to extend after Martinelli. Fabrizio reported earlier that Saliba is happy with Arsenal and a contract extension will be agreed soon. So, we tie up three of our best players who are in their early 20s and have at least 10 good years in them. Brilliant!
Coming back to the game, Mikel tried a Trossard + Martinelli which we had asked for. It didn’t prove to be a miracle but it was the first game where they both played together. I think it was just a temporary arrangement, once Jesus is back it’s either Nketiah or him at CF. Bring in Balogun in the mix and we have two potential strikers and Jesus.
I have been complaining about rotation from Mikel the whole last season. However, I don’t want to see it now. We had nothing to lose last season, we needed to give game time to every players for their growth. Today, we are in a situation where a mistake can cost us the title. Lets play to our strength, make rotation only when it’s necessary. These 11 players have gelled in perfectly, and you can mix things up at 60th minute with Jorginho, ESR, Tomiyasu, Tierney on the bench.
If you ask me, I will say it’s a 4-0 win for us. Nketiah proves every one of us wrong today, with 2 to his name. Saka and Martinelli scores one each. I am happy this morning, so I am only wishing 4 goals for us. It could have been worse, after what they did to us and our title challenge.
Anyways, we are still at the top, and I can’t finish my article without the custom – it’s very lonely at the top and I am loving it ๐
I have had problems with the hosting, I had taken it up when I was in UK, and it took me some time to move it. If you see any slowness, or the website not working – please let me know through comments or shoot me an email. It will probably, hence the ask.

Email sent to Ambarish to forward to you with code number and instructions.
Be cool if it works ๐
sounds like Eddie’s got an ankle issue, which could complicate matters as we’ve got 3 matches over the next 9 days…as for Jesus’s return date MA offered up this rather nonsensical comment, “He’s not very close but he’s not far at all”…WTF, why even say anything if that’s all you can muster…maybe Jorginho or Xhaka will finally get their shot up top LOL
Tony—btw I did respond to your “stitches” post on the previous thread…Cheers
Hi Tony
I read John Belushi’s biog a long time ago. He was terrific in the Blues Brothers but it was that John Landis film Animal House where he really stood out. The book recounts that canteen scene where Belushi’s is loading his plate. All spontaneous and ad libbed. That film drew some deep lines between people’s attitudes to US Society. Very funny.
I don’t know what I ever expected from Jim when he came along but he was a pale imitation of his (older?) brother at least in comedy terms. Was he out acted by a dog in a detective caper in the 80s?I think his best role was a serious one alongside James Woods in Salvador, a very moving film by Oliver Stone I think (before he himself became shit).

That brought a smile…
Check this. Maybe Arteta is the new Father Dougal… Poor old Father Ted. One of the best sitcoms ever produced.
that’s some good shit KP, I’ll definitely be going down the Father Ted rabbit hole—I’ve always been a big proponent of that sort of Faulty Towers/Bob Newhart preying on the stupidity of others brand of humour…it’s incredibly difficult to properly incoperate “stupid” into a comedic narrative without getting too slapsticky, which is why I applaud the efforts of those who created older series like Taxi and Cheers, or even more recent ones like Parks & Rec and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia…in my formative years, I gravitated much more towards the comedic stylings of Abbott & Costello than the Three Stooges, which likely explains my particular comedic leanings…Cheers
it’s funny that Belushi came up in conversation again, as I grew up at a time when both he and several other of his fellow SNL players consumed a significant portion of the North American comedic landscape…although I appreciate his societal significance, from a counter-culture/drug friendlier capacity, I wasn’t a massive fan…of course, I respected how committed he was to his craft, like Steve Martin in “The Jerk” or SCTV’s Martin Short, but if I was looking to tickle my physical humour funny-bone I would lean more towards the likes of Chris Farley or John Candy…that said, it’s certainly not an apples to oranges debate

Back in the late 70s I believe Jim’s biog was banned for glorifying drug culture as if the 60s and Woodstock had never happened. In Jim’s day the obituary column was a must read to see who had checked out of Hotel California but never really left in spirit anyway.
Animal House was the first of the Lampoon series where undoubtedly the best by a country mile was Porky’s:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084522/ About 2 months ago I watched it with junior who was howling with laughter from start to finish. It was juniors coming-of-age movie where the humour broke any barriers when talking about the movie later.
Father Ted, Allo Allo Fawlty Towers (making a comeback I read) Dad’s Army and many others all stood tall as the elite of comedy, but nothing and I mean nothing came close to Only Fools & Horses. I have every episode and special and watch again with junior.

Never stops being funny.
I agree John was by far the funniest. Jim was always living in John’s shadow long after he died.

Thanks for your candor I was happy playing with the solution from time to time. I’m beginning to think we’ve been doppelganged, as UFC is my go to Sunday afternoon watching prelims and main card is my weekly ritual.
In terms of fighting styles I’ve always favoured Krav Maga and looked into it when I was in Tel Aviv 30 years ago on business.
I’d decided that that was the sport I would take up when I had the time to take a year out and go to Brazil or Israel for a year to study the sport with intensity each day. Sadly, when it came to deciding I was in the right place/time to take a year out, I ended up in SE Asia and opted for kick boxing and riding Harleys to just doing gym work at my house where I have a pro set up with 160kg kick bag. I was too old for the fighting side at 49 but I’d get a young Thai local champ to come to our gym and train us all.
I still had a clean 6-Pack at 60 and a 4 pack at 65 when I stopped heavy training in favour of 20kg 15 meter ropes to try to get rid of my current 1-pack where I’ve gone soft. Have to say I hate the feeling.
My workouts were measured in tonnes where I averaged 18 tonnes on a back day, 8 tonnes on an arm day 10 tons on a chest and tricep day. Leg days were monstrous. My gym is 100 sq meters not bragging but shows to my seriousness in training to keep my health issues at bay. It mostly worked but I had too have 3 stents in the last 10 years. My heart team here were always happy with my diet and training.
I get the academic and sport side because you have to be quick thinking with timing for on your feet, and then a mind like a chess player on speed with the grappling. Volkanoski and Khabib are 2 gifted, highly intelligent men that proves the point: brains and brawn are a perfect match when in harmony.
I didn’t like Rhonda and the like much, but really like the women warriors who really take the sport seriously and not looking to be film stars.
Also, loved Bob Newhart and still remember parts of the pilot/plane piece. He had such a great voice.
Hope you’re able to continue at least with the training part long into your 60s. For me at 66 I knew my body had taken enough with weights and I didn’t want to mess with my rortator cuffs. Ropes are beastly, too
Sorry, Ambarish I try to keep away from our chattiness on game days.
I’m sticking to my 4+:0 demolition of Bournemouth.

We’d put this guy on the TV in the gym then from the start, we’d work through the 45 in 2 sessions doing between 3 and 4 combo moves for 90 second durations and up to 3 minutes at our fittest. By our I mean, Junior, my wife and myself. The session would last about 90 minutes.

Your fitness will be far ahead of our best levels: it has to be for MMA.
K’phobe I hope Ambarish has sent you the code payment numbers.
City making hard work of an improving Newcastle despite no wins in 3 games. They’re just not taking their chances where they had 3 very good missed chances today.
The result shouldn’t register with our lads who hopefully will net a few, especially with Xhaka finally on the bench where his recent stats would match his bench status.
City still look below their normal par I’m happy to report. KDB being subbed after a 2nd poor outing looking tired and lost at times. Is this a Haarland effect? Hope so!
Looking for a big win today at the Emirates. Hope you’re there to see it Marc.
Signs of some rotation today. Well I never…
Talk about get caught with your pants down. A well worked KO by Bournemouth and then put up the low block.
These matches league leaders shouldn’t lose.
Does Arteta finally have a plan B?
K’phobe did you get the app downloaded and get the code from Ambarish or go the IP TV route?
Time to show our title credentials ๐
ESR is not involved enough. Hardly gets passed to. Is it because the team is now unfamiliar with him or a coaching arsehole strategy?
Or there is so much fear of the Manager players read his dislikes and play accordingly.
At this rate, ESR will be on the bench ( as part of strategy)
We have much better players, one to one. Hopefully there will be a reaction now in 2nd half
Vieira is taking Xhaka advanced attacking position.
ESR is still an outcast
2-0 off corner. The big boys of Bournemouth got in first. Partey lost his man
Partey got one back. Off ESR who read it well and headed accurately into space.
Been ranting about ESR, but know my jewels, even if the pearls are thrown into a pigs trough
Loverboy Xhaka is sent in with a peck on the cheek from the manager.
Anyway Vieira was atrocious. Surprise that he was nit moved out in place if Nelson who is doing good. ESR was removed as soon as he started asserting and demanding the ball after he helped turn the game around. Folks still talk of howvESR saved Arteta arse 2 years back. Guess this is too painful a reminder to the alpha male Arteta who does not want this to be reminded.
