Auba situation and West Ham game

This looks bad! Aubameyang has been stripped off of his captaincy and missed the last game we played against Southampton. He is not in contention against West Ham and Club has formally announced about it. This is what the club had to say.

Following his latest disciplinary breach last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain, and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham United.

We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed.

Arteta just agreed with the statement when asked more in the press conference and as it stands, things are not looking good for Auba. Is it another Ozil situation? I wish not. He is our most paid player on a 3,50,000 pound per week and moving him on would be a real challenge. Anyway, that’s a discussion for another day. Let’s concentrate on the decision taken against him.

Look, I’m all favor for Auba and his family affair but he is employed and is expected to adhere to the commitment. Moreover, this doesn’t look like a simple coming-late-to-work thing. There ought to be something more, which we don’t need to know and I personally stand beside the club and it’s decision. No one is above the club and everyone on it’s payroll need to show up.

I’ve not felt confident about Mikel’s man management but this is one of those cases where I stand with him. Club rules and discipline is for everyone, even if it meant you bench your highest earning player, in his prime.

Moreover, the form he is in, it might even be a blessing in disguise. I want his minutes to be given to Eddie instead of Laca. There’s a striker there and it would be pity if he leaves on a free. We have been struggling to score this season and if your midfielder aka Smith Rowe has more goals than your Striker, there’s something wrong. There’s not much of an option left with us, we all know now Laca will be leaving. Balogun is not ready yet and will go on loan in January. We are left with Eddie and probably Martinelli who can be utilized as Center Forward. However, Martinelli’s best games has come from the wings and I would let Eddie pair up with Saka, Smith, and Martinelli up top.

Coming to the match, we are playing West Ham today at Home. This is a big game and probably most importance if we are dreaming of top 4. As it stands, West Ham are sitting in 4th place and are in very good form. Last place for Champions League football is a direct fight between West Ham, Man United, Arsenal and Spu*s.

A win today is very important and will keep us in contention of Champions League football. Our home form is one of the best this season and I’m hoping we play a good game and earn all 3 points. There shouldn’t be much of a change today than our previous game. Our back 5 will probably remain same with Ramsdale, Tomy, Ben White, Gabriel and KT.

I would love to see Partey + Lokonga midfield but I’m not sure about Arteta’s love for Xhaka. Saka and Ode are starters and it would be either Martinelli or Smith in the left wing. Martinelli has done everything to keep his place and don’t hate me for this – but Saka and Martinelli on wings with Smith Rowe in middle would be perfect for me, with Eddie up top.

If it’s a youth project, there’s not point giving these minutes to Laca. He might come in if things don’t look good, but we should beat West Ham at home comfortably. In my opinion, Eddie should be tied down and groomed as the striker we need.

Right, that’s all for today. I would love to hear your opinion in the comments about Auba’s incident and how much you (dis)agree with me.

Good luck with the site mate. I’ll keep reading it. Pedro is shooting himself in the foot on le gr*ve with his silly alter egos and banning people who disagree that we should all be blindly in love with the basque bantamweight. Stick to the truth and ‘London is Red’ will do just fine.

    PS
Keep trying to poach the more sensible contributors from le gr*ve onto here if you can. Pedro would do the same if the tables were turned I’m sure. Most of the sane people left on there are, I sense, looking for an alternative forum so you’ll be knocking at an open door.

  4. Good to see you here 🙂 I had been running this from the time I was in London and attending matches – what’s better than to have a platform to write about my fandom and hear from all Gooners 🙂

  5. Of all the things to miss, I missed to check the comments and to approve it.. My bad but again good to see you here. I’m kind of nothing to what Pedro maintains but yeah I’ll try to maintain it as a fan and write on WYSIWYG.

  6. Thank you, Almunia. I’ve finally settled in my home town and I’ll be regular hopefully. Always good to connect to Gooners.

A shame someone had already taken north london is red dot com, but this will do I hope.
