Champions League Night, at Home. Beautiful.
We are playing Real Madrid at home in about 30 min in Champions League quarter finals. This is THE biggest game of the season, considering PL trophy is out of sight. Madrid is probably the toughest opponent you can get in Champions League over two legs. They will be 3-0 down on aggregate with 10 minutes on clock, and go on to win 4-3. With the likes of Mbappe, Rodrygo and Vinicious up front, and a midfield of Modric, Camavinga and Bellingham, they are one of the best attacking sides in the world and they have got a very good defence as well.
We, on the other hand, are going into the game with Merino as a CF. Jakub Kiwior in defence is another problem for me, as Gabriel M has picked up an injury and will be out for the rest of the season. We have a 17 year old at LB and a new CB partnership. That’s a bit concerning but you know, going into a game as under-dogs has it’s own benefits. The good thing is, Madrid will play an attacking game and we have been relatively good against the likes of Liverpool and City who tries to play their way. It’s the low blocks we suffer against.
And we are at home, so the crowd will be behind us. Boys have dreamt of this, to play against the best teams in the world, at the grandest stage, and I’m sure they are going to prove today that they deserve to be here. I don’t care about the second leg, we win today with 2 goal margin and we can play with 6 defenders in the away game.
Talking about the strategy Mikel would have put up …. well I don’t care. Lets go, play our game with freedom, give our 100% and see where it ends.
A very short one today, but I will be alive during the game today.

That’s your level Wicksy: drivel is something you own here or your be unhappy we only manage slightly less than a point a game for the season.
Seems you are happy with that you are an AKB which clearly Arteta doesn’t know best or why play our starters as unnecessary subs and run Rice into the ground where he was completely exhausted when finally getting a respite.
Add to that we had to finish the game with 10 men tells you much about the massive lack of game management and tactics Arteta possesses after 5.5 years managing us.
If you feel as it seems you do, that Arteta is a good manager who had wasted £millions tanking players and buying yes men who are not the level we require then there is nothing anyone here can help you other than to suggest you buy a football 101 book to learn from. Best you get one with lots of pictures to help illustrate Arteta’s faults.
Guess your love of our serial loser who capitulated the last 3 seasons and may even slip to 3rd this season is all you can expand on.
Let’s not forget Arteta had stated once again he needs at least 4 players or maybe 5.
2 wonder free kicks gave us a false picture of our RM win with only one goal from open play.
Can Rice net on the regular from set pieces? I don’t see it.
Hopefully Berta is going to make TW sense going forward as Arteta is clueless where elite players are not interested in playing for him bar Rice.
I’d take Enrique or Slot over MA any day, wouldn’t you?
Madhu
Totally agree the your thinking Arteta has no reality when it comes to money. He’s lived on football’s easy street with no real achievements from Everton or us other than a covid FA cup.
He would not have lasted this long at any other big club wit failure after failure each season.
Tony
“we only manage slightly less than a point a game for the season”
You sound like 2 tier kier with his “22 million pound black hole” bullshit.
I’ve seen you repeat time and time again that we have only managed a point a game or less and I am surprised that your ” friends” on here haven’t corrected you as that’s what friends would normally do to stop one making a fool of oneself .
To avoid you repeating the bullshit similar to 2 tier kier I will assist you .
Arsenal Premier league
Played 32
Points 63
This equates to just under 2 points a game …1.96 to be exact , so I find it very baffling that you keep harping on about the “22 million pound black hole” ….sorry, I mean “a point a game”.
Tony
“2 wonder free kicks gave us a false picture of our RM win with only one goal from open play.”
Have you conveniently forgot that the Madrid keeper was their man of the match with some outstanding saves.
Wicksy you sure you’re not a spud supporter singing Arteta eulogies? If you’re happy with Arteta, then best you sit with the losers.
Best to be quiet when in a room with adults.
Sorry your team is being beaten again by Wolves this time.
Enjoy your pathetic attempts at wind ups here we find them amusing, too.
Do read football 101 though you might learn something about winner.
To quote Marc before you talk absolutely bollocks here Spuddy!
About winning*
Pool 6 points from the title even playing as poorly as they have recently and Arteta gifting Pool 2 points a game.
Slot winning the title in his first season spending very little on players.
Wicksy le Spud you happy with that you loser!!!
The problem with this club, are slags like Wicksy. End of story.
Slots pisses the league in his 1st season.
Dortmund reached the Champions League final last season, and they sacked their cunt of a manager, ours will get a fucking statue because he beat Real Madrid at home.
The football, we watch under this manager , is the worst I have seen since GG days, when he had O Leary and Hillier in midfield.
Art Fraud
“The football, we watch under this manager , is the worst I have seen since GG days, when he had O Leary and Hillier in midfield.”
O’leary in midfield ?
Fraud is about right.
We have Tony insisting that we have managed less than a point a game this season , and you thinking that O’leary played in midfield..
Read what i said, silly bollocks.
Fraud
” when he had O Leary and Hillier in midfield”
I don’t know why we continue to engage with our little simpleton interloper…he only shows up when things appear to be on the up-and-up or whenever the tin foilers are having a fucking bird…trust me I know all too well how difficult it can be to resist this sort of low hanging fruit fuckwad, but I implore you to try and refrain from taking the bait or at the very least just adopt Hoopah’s quite savvy approach…Cheers
Spudy Wicksy played 32 with 63 points losing a point a game with 12 draws gifting Slot 24 points was waiting for you to see if you’d bite.
We gave the PL to Pool especially being 2nd where we are 13 points behind the leaders.
So would you take Enrique or Slot over our tactically inept myopic loser of a manager?
If not, then Spuds are your team with your loser support for our loser manager.
Nearly 6 years managing for one Covid FA cup is sackable for any big or mid table club. Just that KSE are happy with CL football income as they were with Wenger until he could no longer maintain CL football while Chavs and Manure kept winning top honours.
Not for you it seems. MA can do no wrong in your rose tinted glasses.
TRVL
Spudy Wicksy just loves MA and is a fully paid up member of the loser fan club Pedro-Pete is the blog leader of.
No other CL club is going to play as poor as RM did last Tuesday. We reverted back to form against Brentford playing our starters, and as I said before ran Rice into the ground before subbing him when he should have been rested with the amount of work that is expected of him
In each game.
You know more about injuries and exhaustion recovery far more than I do, but I’d be surprised if Rice can recover to full fitness in 4 days to play his non stop box to box football Wednesday night.
Rice could barely run before being subbed yesterday and we ended up playing with 10 men.
Funny watching Manure being fed to the Newcastle wolves. 4:1 is a pleasure to watch a a tonic for the hospitalized Howe.
Tony
“played 32 with 63 points losing a point a game with 12 draws gifting Slot 24 points was waiting for you to see if you’d bite.”
Why lie, Junior must be proud of you.
Newcastle beat Palace midweek and they’re 4 points behind us when we’ve got to go to Anfield and play Newcastle at the Emirates.
At least we can rely on how well Arteta reacts to pressure.
Marc
If Newcastle do take 2nd what will the reaction be from Stan & Josh? Sit on their hands or Sack El B.
If Newcastle do succeed in obtaining 2nd Wenger will no doubt have a wry smirk on his face. His choice of manager will be above thew Kroenke’s choice.
Norg
I don’t think the Kroenke’s would sack Arteta for that alone (unfortunately) but I do think it might plant a seed of “how many times” is this guy to bottle it.
He’s had what 5 season’s now, the FA Cup win is a distant memory and he’s had a fortune spent on the squad at some point its when is it going to be our season?
Tony
Ref TRVL sane advice. You asked for it.
Best is to let the barking dog infatuate himself with the moon’s shadows
“Arsenal Cannot Afford Another Passive Window…there’s a sense of déjà vu here. Arsenal have flirted with elite-level recruitment in previous summers, only to fall short. Yet this summer feels like the moment of reckoning. The Gunners cannot rely on patchwork solutions or another January of “almost signed” stories…the opportunity cost of standing still in the market can derail a title bid… this is not the time for half-measures, it’s time to act decisively”
I know we still have a CL iron in the fire, but I read the above excerpt earleir today and I couldn’t help but speak to the issues it raises…can you even imagine another “big” club who was vying for a title and positioned to make a deep CL run doing absolutely nothing to address their OBVIOUS shortcomings in both the summer and winter windows…fuck me, Villa basically bought a whole new frontline in January just so they could hopefully snag another CL invite, as they were in 8th place at that time, and to maybe get a round or two deeper than anyone expected in Europe, considering how watered down the competition was this season…meanwhile, over on Dipshit Drive, MA bitch-slapped conventional wisdom in the face once again, with no real Striker to speak of and only Sterling being added, who btw couldn’t even get a start against Brentford when our regulars needed a break…maybe just maybe he gets a pass if this was 3 seasons prior, when expectations were substantially lower, but not on the heels of back-to-back 2nd place finishes…it begs the question, how many times can you look a fucking gift horse in the mouth before someone says enough is enough with this whole my way or the highway shoehorning joke show
in case you didn’t know, the Kroenke’s were willing to fire the longtime coach of their prized Nuggets franchise, who actually won a title two years back, a week and change before the start of the playoffs, even though he was highly respected and their position in the postseason was already locked up…yet somehow MA seems impervious to any such consequences even though he’s cocked things up 3 years running and has no silverware to speak of, at least not since the monies were spent…god only knows what sort of leeway he’ll have earned if we somehow manage to secure a CL title, which seems a bit far-fetched, at least as we’re presently constructed, but definitely not outside the realm of possibility…of course, I hope it happens, even though I’m concerned by how it might wrongly inform our future transfer pursuits, as why would ownership back a big money Striker move if we finagle our way into a European title with Merino up top…regardless, it would be a joyous occasion, as beggars can’t be choosers, but we all know it would have to be in the conversation for the greatest “in spite of the manager” victory ever…Cheers
Hi Vieira
The Gunners cannot rely on patchwork solutions or another January of “almost signed” stories
I don’t know about that…The Old Chihuahua-Headed bastard got away with it for nigh on 10 years, aided by Gazidis, Sir Chips or whatever his fucking name was and the septic father and son combo.
With better leadership, going all the way back at least to the parsimonious, missionary position earlier Hill-Wood father and son combo, the Arsenal has been poorly led by it’s safe, geriatric, money grubbing ownership. How things may have played out different with slightly higher risk takers who really cared about the club.
