Champions League Night, at Home. Beautiful.
We are playing Real Madrid at home in about 30 min in Champions League quarter finals. This is THE biggest game of the season, considering PL trophy is out of sight. Madrid is probably the toughest opponent you can get in Champions League over two legs. They will be 3-0 down on aggregate with 10 minutes on clock, and go on to win 4-3. With the likes of Mbappe, Rodrygo and Vinicious up front, and a midfield of Modric, Camavinga and Bellingham, they are one of the best attacking sides in the world and they have got a very good defence as well.
We, on the other hand, are going into the game with Merino as a CF. Jakub Kiwior in defence is another problem for me, as Gabriel M has picked up an injury and will be out for the rest of the season. We have a 17 year old at LB and a new CB partnership. That’s a bit concerning but you know, going into a game as under-dogs has it’s own benefits. The good thing is, Madrid will play an attacking game and we have been relatively good against the likes of Liverpool and City who tries to play their way. It’s the low blocks we suffer against.
And we are at home, so the crowd will be behind us. Boys have dreamt of this, to play against the best teams in the world, at the grandest stage, and I’m sure they are going to prove today that they deserve to be here. I don’t care about the second leg, we win today with 2 goal margin and we can play with 6 defenders in the away game.
Talking about the strategy Mikel would have put up …. well I don’t care. Lets go, play our game with freedom, give our 100% and see where it ends.
A very short one today, but I will be alive during the game today.

Why wouldn’t you bring on Modric? He may be older than God’s dad but he’s a player.
Folks everyone can relax. RM is never going tl scope in a million years. They haven’t got a clue how to score. Mbappe is a waste of space over hyped and overpaid. We are in to Semis folks relax. We have got it sealed. We look more dangerous going forward.
Marc—I’m shocked he didn’t start him…since January 25th Real have only potted 3 goals once, in La Liga, which was against a shit side, so I’m not surprised whatsoever that they’ve had difficulty scoring against us…if Carlos wasn’t such a well-respected manager he would have been fired awhile ago…just think how noisy it would have been if the manger was Benitez or another lesser light

No argument – reputations carry a lot of weight.
The Madrid players don’t look like they have a belief in the “plan” that’s going to win them the tie.
every side should be on high alert come the summer if this scoreline remains the same…they’re going to be looking to poach a lot of midfield and backline talent
Marc—tbh I don’t think there’s much of a plan in place…they’re a counter-attacking side yet they’ve shown no interest in inviting pressure, to help facilitate that preference, and they likewise haven’t put their best midfielders in when it comes to picking passes against a low block
What has Rudiger got to do to go in the book?

You have to think the plan is for Mbappe or Bellingham to do something special which isn’t really a plan.
What a finish – great for Saka after the miss.
good on Saka to get a little redemption for that earlier penalty…thank god it came before that Saliba gift…shouldn’t matter in the grand scheme of things
Marc—Bellingham has lost his mojo since the arrival of Mbappe…I bet this Real side would be much better off if Mbappe played out wide and Bellingham was deployed as a false 9

I need to see their goal again – Saliba wasn’t aware but why was the ball passed to him if he had a player bearing down on him.
the more I see that Saka goal, the more I wonder what Courtois was doing…he actually made himself smaller at the worst time possible…fuck him!
i’ll be very interested to see what Junior makes of himself should he leave Real…in my estimation, he’s needs a serious attitude adjustment…I certainly wouldn’t pay him the money he’s been demanding
stupid yellow for Partey…we can ill-afford to lose him in the first leg of the next round, especially against PSG’s midfield
Partey is a huge miss for the Semis. Dare I say for me he is the player of the season when he played in midfield. Give the man a year extension pls. They have to play Rice in the middle for the first leg or Jorginhio
that’s how you finish things off!!
Thrilled for Martinelli – fuck the score line we were through by a country mile anyway but Martinelli has worked his arse off over both legs and deserved something to reward the hard team work he’s put in.
I’m really looking forward to that PSG matchup, especially if we play on the front foot…I doubt Enrique will set his side up as Carlos has, but it should be an intriguing tie
