Arsenal Transfer News 2025 – progress so far!

It’s a mix bag. Lets check out the details of the transfers that are already done, and some of the ongoing ones that may or may not materialise in coming days.

Noni Madueke is ‘almost’ a done deal!

Noni Madueke has agreed personal terms with Arsenal for a transfer to the red side of London. He has been at Chelsea for a year and half, and scored 7 times in his 32 appearances for Chelsea in Premier League last season. He is mostly a right winger and is coming here as a Bukayo Saka’s back up.

It doesn’t make any sense though. We have Saka and we have Nwaneri. I am pretty sure that if you play Nwaneri for 32 games in a season, our own lad would be a better player with better outputs than a Chelsea reject. It makes fuck-all sense to me but whatever, if Arteta covers the most important things – a CF, a Midfielder, I don’t care if he burns Kroenke’s house in the process.

It comes with a different problem though. It’s not about money and its not about bringing another Chelsea player. We have been trying to agree on a contract renewal with Ethan Nwaneri and he is adamant for more game time. The negotiations has stalled and bringing in a right winger would mean no game time at all for the hale end graduate. Fabrizio has already been reporting on it, and Chelsea are interested. So they would dump a player they don’t thing would start for them anymore, and they are going to get a player who can start for us. Make it make sense for me.

Cristhian Mosquera – a CB youngster for the future

We are also in the market for a CB, and the club is working on signing Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia. He is only 20 year old, and we have got solid 4-5 years from Gabriel and Saliba. It’s a good signing and one for the future, he can develop here and can surely rotate for one of the CBs in this process.

Zubimendi is a done deal, only the announcement is pending.

It’s only a matter of time before club announces Zubimendi. Our midfielders have left, Thomas Partey’s contract expired and we didn’t renew him. Jorginho has left. Declan Rice has mostly played in the advance role and Arteta would keep it that way. I have not seen Zubimendi play much but going by the interest he has generated in last couple of season around the world, I am assuming it would turn out to be good. Thomas was brilliant in the DM role and we need an improvement to that. Hope Zubi brings in that here.

And since Jorginho has left too, we have been trying to bring in Norgaard from Brentford. A 31-year old who would be happy to sit on bench, but can be brought on to cover and rest Zubimendi for games, is not a bad deal. It’s good that we are not leaving any place in conundrum, the choice of players can be controversial to fans, but at least we are trying and not leaving it for another season and another transfer window.

Striker?

I don’t know who we are going to bring now. It has become a pendulum with Gyokeres on the one side and Sesko on the other. Lets see what happens but lets also pray that we don’t run out of money buying 3rd choice DMs, 2nd choice RW and a CB for 5 years in future. If we don’t get a striker, we are not winning the league. Havertz and Merino are not the answers because we won fuck all so far, and we need someone who can score 20+ goals a season and win those boring games that ends up 0-0 and we end up regretting those 2 points.

Right, that’s all the things that are ongoing. The transfers that are already done / completed are listed below. Nothing too exciting.

Done deals!

Thomas Partey

The contract ended on 30 June and I am sorry I was asking the club to renew him. There will be a fair trial and the charges could either stand or not, but that’s something for the judicial system. The club knew about it, and should have taken the hit frankly if this is so serious.

Tomiyasu

Tomiyasu and the club has agreed to part ways after his injury issues in last couple of seasons. He is a great defender and all, but what’s the point if you are available for 3 games per season. Good that we have moved on.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

We have paid 5m to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. He has been an outcast recently and we needed a back GK after we sold Ramsdale. Kepa can do the job for the odd games and against the weaker opponents to give our main GK some rest when needed. 5m is not a big amount, but considering that we have let go of Emi Martinez, have signed 6 other GK and is now finalising a first teamer and a back up is beyond my understanding. But hey, better late than never and that too for 5m.

MLS – contract renewal

Myles Lewis-Skelly, the 18-year old left back sensation has renewed his contract at Arsenal. He was very happy to give some more years to a club that has seen his developments since he was 8 years old and has gone on to feature in Champions League game. This is what he had to say –

I want a legacy. I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that’s always learning and stays grounded, which is so important.

Jorginho leaves club

We reached a mutual agreement with Jorgi and let him go to play in the FIFA Club World Cup for Flamengo. Truth be bold, the physicality in Premier League is unsustainable for him and we need a better bench player.

Gabriel signs new deal

Our best defender, Gabriel Megalhaes signed a long term contract a month back. 27 years old, he still has his best days ahead and with Saliba and him in the defence, we won’t have any problems for next few years.

Tavares joins Lazio

Tavares has been the only sell that has generated some money. That too because he was on a loan with obligation to buy, and we have received about 4.5m GBP. We thought we have an attacking LB and gambled on him for a very less 15m fee. It didn’t work out but at the end, it’s not a huge loss. You would have to take some of these chances in the search of next big thing.

Tierney leaves

Hated to see him go frankly, kept his head down through out his time at Arsenal, gave his everything in red and white t-shirt and we respect that. We have become too better for him but he has been very well a part of the journey so far. We need better players but it doesn’t take away his contribution in last few years. A true gooner, thank you for your service.

Right, that’s all. I will be updating this list through the transfer window. Did I miss anyone? Do let me know in the comments.

The reason why Real Madrid didn’t spend £50 million is because Zubimendi is bang average.

    Just look at his stats.
Analyse them. Clearly our scouts,if we have any have not analysed.

What does he do apart from make Elneny type passes?

This moronic cunts record on midfielders is legendary.

    Lokonga= shit
    Jorginho = Chelsea shit
    Vieira= worse than shit.

Only these cunts , out of all the brilliant Portugusese players, could select this cunt for £40 million.

Partey= not shit but a wrong un.

Rice = not shit , but for £105 million the jury is still out.

Although he did deliver against Real Madrid with the free kicks.
Which is what a £100 million
    player supposed to.

    Nordegard = will be shit.

PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool , maybe Manchester City are streets ahead and that will only grow under these current cunts in charge.

En route back home after 4 days in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh viewing properties.

Agree with your thinking and AF’s too. Both make complete sense to me. Surprisingly nothing from chirpy Pricksy.

I’m wondering if PL clueless Josh is in charge, nothing is going to change as he’s taken in by MA’s BS or why hasn’t he fired MA for another capitulation. How many is enough for the son of wiggy?

Remind me again what Tim Lewes is supposed to do for our club?

More later as need to finish the 6 hour journey from York our last hotel on this trip.

Tony—hopefully your house hunting trek was a successful one, although I get the feeling that you might have said so if that was the case

so let’s look at how our window might look if Noni and Mosquera were to come in next:

    OUT

    Jorginho – Flamengo, free

    Kieran Tierney – Celtic, free

    Nuno Taveres – Lazio, £4.3m

    Marquinhos – Cruzeiro, undisclosed

    Takehiro Tomiyasu – released

    Thomas Partey – released

    IN

Zubimendi – 61M (even though his release clause was 52M)

    Kepa – 5M

Norgaard – 15M (even though every MA-linked media outlet claimed it was far less to make it seem like a savvier move)

Noni Madueke – approx 55M (similar to the kudus transfer to the Spurs)

    Mosquera – approx. 25M

if this were the case our net spend would be around 155M, yet we would have only acquired one bona fide starter, Zubi, who’s actually coming here to take the very role that our 100+M acquisiton from two summers ago was supposed to have all sorted…what are the chances that we would likewise pay upwards of 70+M for VG and another 68M for Eze, which would put our total spend at the 300M mark…let’s face it, only MA would spend 150+M without adding a single goalscoring option to our starting 11, as Noni would be either a depth piece or shoehorned in on his weaker foot side, as he’s a left-footed right-sided forward…now unless we’re planning on selling several players, including a more significant piece, like Marts, I just don’t see us spending anywhere near that 300M amount…the math is mathing for me

if our window is all about quantity over quality, like I feared, I might fucking implode…I just can’t stop thinking about the fact that MA and all his muppet followers were so convinced about the hypothetical notion that if we were fully healthy everything was ours for the taking…fucking delusional twats

I’ll back channel the house hunting news as it was successful.

Re the signings apparently Madueke has an issues history so MA will soon be upset with him for £52m as a back up player. Zubi wasn’t what we needed nor the Norgaard buy for me.

VG is holding us to ransom from what I’ve read and isn’t proven in the PL or any decent league.

When you look at Frank buying Kudus as part of his rebuild, Spuds will have the new manager bounce who is PL tested so another team looking to bounce back with the Chavs, City and Manure.

This coming season I feel will see MA start to unravel as the PL becomes tougher than the last 3 seasons as our additions are nowhere as good as our main rivals, especially Pool.

  5. Art Fraud

So Madueke will be unable to feature for another 4 weeks because of his involvement in this US tournament?

Only our soppy cunts would spend £52 million on another Chelsea scrote who can’ t even play and hit the ground running and what makes it even more fucking ridiculous the average cunt comes from Barnet.

    Don’t we have scouts?

We have cunts and frauds running the club.

  6. The Real Vieira Lynn

Tony-it’s interesting how none of Noni’s “issues” have deterred MA from pursuing this player…clearly Noni’s been given some assurances about first team football, which means we’ve made another very expensive shoehorning maneuver(likely why Tross to Turkey rumours were making the rounds today)…IMO Noni’s a hot/cold player, who can make a difference when he’s fully engaged…I’m just not sure that’s a worthwhile gamble, especially when you make the margins for success even thinner by having him playing on his off wing…it’s almost as if MA is so preoccupied with looking like a genius, by going against the grain so fucking often, that he’s lost the plot…not to mention, he’s the kind of cake and eat it too cunt that if it doesn’t work he’ll simple lean into one of his myriad of excuses…of course, none of them will include the fact that he continually deploys players in the wrong positions

meanwhile, it appears as if Sporting has called for a “cooling off” period in the VG negotiations..what a clown show as both sides seemed to be so close that it makes me wonder if this is some sort of MA-inspired ruse…after all, most reporters have made note that VG was Berta’s first option, whereas MA always favoured Sesko

AF-I kind of forgot about the whole CWC situation and how his involvement might derail his ability to properly embed with the team…recent reports are suggesting that he’s returning from America as we speak, so as to complete the signing, which means that he won;t be available for the final versus PSG, but even so he’ll likely get a month off, as you’ve so wisely remarked…funnily enough, which speaks to our London leftover status, if Chelsea really cared about this player surely they would have at least delayed the signing until after Sunday…here’s hoping that Noni’s so pissed about his time with the Blues that he’s got a fire in his fucking belly, unlike every other previous crosstown recruit

  7. The Real Vieira Lynn

There appears to be a groundswell of anti-Noni support within the fanbase…whereas I agree with the underlying sentiments of this “protest”, we must not burying the lead by attacking the player…when we do this we play right into the hands of the Artetites…I, like most of those who signed the online petition, have nothing against the player himself, our beef is with the manner in which MA continues to conduct our transfer business…in fact, Noni just might be the most hopeful piece of business we’ve ever conducted with that club, considering his age profile and CV at this level, but that’s not what this protest is really all about:

    (1) the very fact that Chelsea has seemingly got the best of us on every other transaction shouldn’t be so easily ignored by the powers that be…it’s not like it’s a fucking small sample size

    (2) we have much bigger fish to fry, so he fails from an expectational sense, as he’s at best a viable Saka cover piece, shoud he go down again, and at worst, he’s another shoehorning horror show who we’ve paid well above the number for

    (3) the befuddling optics—we appear to be nickel and diming when it comes to the position of greatest import, yet somehow we can get this much more questionable deal over the line in an unusually timely fashion…surely anyone, regardless of your managerial alleigiances, can see how this might rub some the wrong way

    (4) how this particular transaction might hurt our chances of getting some “real” frontside business done…as you start to add things up, barring the possibility of us selling one of our bigger ticket items, one has to wonder if we have the financial appetite to spend another 130+M, as that’s what a VG/Sesko and a Eze would cost…if, on the other hand, this is it, minus maybe another defender, MA better watch the fuck out, as things could get noisy quick, especially if we struggle from the off

nuance is dead, so I guess long live #NoToMadueke

  8. TRVL
For me we haven’t bought a player who improves us significantly to win the CL or PL or even move the needle much, if at all.

Eze maybe the only play who can lift us if played to his strengths, but he will be a bench warmer for Rice at 8 ands why would he want to play for MA? maybe it’s CL football that will entice him.

Noni is the wings reserve or rotation player where I feel Marts is still best for LW if given the much needed support Saka gets in every game. I’ve never rated Zubi as a box to box DM: only as a back 4 protector.

I don’t see VG lasting long in MA’s very short sightedness and myopic tactics. Havertz will still be 9 as VG won’t do the defending MA needs from his 9. I think he still may end up at Manure. Why wouldn’t he ant to play for a manager he knows well and will play him as the 9 week in and week out. MA will not do that as he has his pets to placate.

Just another shit show presided over by Tim Lewes, eyes and ears for Wiggy, and josh, the anti football owner, thinking that MA is a winner.

    Let that sink in………..

How many years is it going to take Lewes and Joss K to realize that MA is a specialist in failure is anyone’s guess because history isn’t working with their equally myopic MA love where 85222 means little to them because of CL money; we are back to Wenger days but 2.0.

  9. Marc

The only positive spin I can put on what is going on at the moment is the gap between us and Liverpool will be bigger next season, its very likely that City will bounce back from a very off season last time round and fight Liverpool for the title whilst we have a rinse and repeat episode of Arteta – shit football, piss poor excuses all with a lot of money spent.

The reason that’s a positive? Because at some point the fans in the stadium have got to click that the “this is going to be our season” that turns into “it was always going to be difficult this season but next season is ours” a couple of months in is what Spud fans always think.

  10. Marc
I read yesterday that fans have signed a petition expressing their Noni buy concerns, something I don’t remember seeing before about in a TW.

As you’ve pointed out the MA press love affair is waning.

Why? Because they have been made to look fools by MA and his PR machine.

I feel from the undertones of recent questioning articles that this is the last “Next season will be…………” they’ll accept, with Skepticism now taking over from their Generational project beliefs.

I’m hoping this season for MA will be done and dusted by Xmas with our difficult opening games.

Wishful thinking maybe, but if he sticks to this current suicidal TW plan and potentially wasting another £300m, this has to work, right? The Emirates’ natives will be getting restless me thinks?!

It will be a baptism by fire for the newbies where MA will be expecting a high level of perfection from day 1. He’s in serious trouble and will be in a world of pain if they don’t hit the ground running. No pressure then.

I think this season is going to be one of the best for neutrals for a long time with so many teams recruiting really well, as BHA have been doing. Forest are a prime example, as are the south coast clubs who followed Tony Bloom’s wisdom and probably algorithm route. Now Frank wants to get the Spuds firing and looking for the right players. They could be a real points threat for once.

The playing fields are going to be more level this season as everyone is rebuilding, only we are rebuilding by replicating our last rebuild. Just changing the pieces hoping they can take us to the next level using MA’s myopic tactics, as it was always the players fault or the ref & VAR. Never MA’s fault!!

Then, ‘in game’ subs are always like for like in the same one dimensional way no matter if needing to score or see a game out.

That’s my take mi Gooner amigo……….
